Meditation: Grab Peace of Mind

We live in uncertain times. Times when being relaxed and clear headed will not only help you but it will benefit others in the world. Meditation is so easy even a ten-year-old girl can do it.

An overview

All you need is 1) You. 2) You in a quiet place sitting or laying down. 3) You letting go of your day, becoming a watcher of images, feelings, sensations parading by your consciousness.

Materials you'll need

You'll need You, a quiet place to sit or lay down. Finally a willingness for 14 days to try letting go of the images, feelings, sensations you may see when meditating. A willingness to not judge or praise whatever may surface.

Step 1: Take Time for Yourself

The day went fast or you couldn't way for the day to end. Either way, you now have some time to yourself, for yourself. You need this time to re energize. This doesn't take long, but you've got to give it at least 14 days.

Step 2: Sit down or lay down and relax.

Sit down or lay down and relax. Do not worry about falling asleep. Some people say meditating laying down will simply make you fall asleep. You're not trying to gain the entire world. You're not trying to read the psychic records of world history. You're trying to grab your peace of heaven on earth. If you find you've fallen asleep, when you awake try it again. If you want set a timer, if you fall asleep, the timer will wake you up after 10 or 15 minutes.

Step 3: Let go.

The main event. Let go. All religions tell us to not judge, forgive. How can we do this for others, if we have not practice letting go for ourselves. Close your eyes and look into the darkness. Or don't try to look into the darkness. Some will see blackness. Others flashing colors. Either way look inside and relax. Images, feelings, sensations, memories may surface. Do not judge or praise these images, feelings, sensations, memories. Simply let them rise and fall away. Let them parade in front of you and disappear. That's it! Yes, it is really this simple. Meditation.

Meditation is like this Zen Koan

A Cup of Tea

Nan-in, a Japanese master during the Meiji era (1868-1912), received a university professor who came to inquire about Zen.

Nan-in served tea. He poured his visitor's cup full, and then kept on pouring.

The professor watched the overflow until he no longer could restrain himself. "It is overfull. No more will go in!"

"Like this cup," Nan-in said, "you are full of your own opinions and speculations. How can I show you Zen unless you first empty your cup?"

Some people use incense, or read books or take yoga classes to help them meditate.

Another Form of Meditation Involves Religous Texts

You don't need text or religious books to meditate.
However using religious text or wise quote can help you meditate.
One simply takes a small passage from the Tao Te Ching or Koran or Bible and uses it to meditate on for 10 or 15 minutes. My suggestion is to do this type of meditation after you've done the simple meditation: Just you, a quiet place and letting go.

P.S.

Go now. Give it a try. For 14 days meditate. You don't have to write anything down or record anything. In fact, that hinders the process. Just let go. Don't tell anyone either what you saw. Meditation is a secret language between you and your higher-self and the Goddesses and Gods. Be a peace. Meditate. Change your world from inside out.
