Traffic in Newcastle can be a nightmare so it is advisable to park outside the city and travel through to St James' Park on the Metro. Heworth Metro Station has a car park that is cheap and available for long stays, and you can travel to St James' Park station from here and miss the traffic. If travelling to Newcastle by train, Newcastle's main station is only about a mile from the ground and about a 10 minute walk.

The Apartment bar on Collingwood Street has a front room and a bedroom and is basically a house - its very cool and trendy! For somewhere a bit less formal, The Keel Row (Lloyds no 1 bar) on Newgate Street in the Gate complex, is cheap and serves food on a budget as well. After a couple in The Keel Row there's plenty to do in the complex, including a casino and a cinema.
