The first thing that this has been used for is evidence in the court of law. People have evidence of neighbors doing stuff to their homes. Murders have been caught on video. There is a whole multitude of things that can be used in court to convict someone. Technology has helped to put criminals behind bars. Lawyers use this to show their clients as kids the happy go lucky kids that they were. While those trying to put them behind bars, they can show where they have acted out. It is better to get confessions on tape and therefore police use video footage as well.

This is how police sometimes get confessions. To make sure they have hard evidence, they work with the subject being questioned until they get some hard evidence. This hard evidence is played in the courts as mentioned above to get a conviction.

Some use this as a means to land that job over in another state. They answer questions on stock video footage. They show a bit of what they do and how they work in their environment. College students give the admitting committee a taste of who they are and place a smile with their application using video.

Others use their video footage to send in for a job. They tape themselves in their setting so that their future employer can see the good job they do. The camera adds stress so they show how they can handle stress. Those same television shows have you tape who you are and why you should be on their reality television specials that so many love to watch.

Due to the nature of some who have taken the concept of video to a whole new level, there are laws that protect you. They say that you cannot be taped if you do not want to be taped as sexual experiences have plagued people and shattered their lives. People who have welcomed camera crews into their homes have sometimes wished they never had. Like those we see on reality television that we so love to watch.

As you can see, there is the good and the bad of video footage. It can help us. It can go against us. It can save us, or it can incriminate us. Therefore, you have to be careful with it. Do not show what you do not want the world to see. Say no if someone tries to tape you when you do not want to be taped. Too much privacy has been taken from this. But we are all dependant on it in some way or another.
