The DS' popularity took off with the introduction of the Nintendo DS Lite in 2006 which is slimmer, lighter and with brighter screens than the original version. Like its predecessor, it features functions such as Wi-Fi connection, dual screen, microphone, LAN and backwards compatibility.
Wi-Fi allows you to connect with other gamers even to the other side of the globe. LAN, on the other had, gets you connected to up to 16 players within the range of 30 to 100 feet. You can also download games from your Game Boy Advance Game Paks through its backward compatibility. With PictoChat, you can send images and text messages to your DS friends.

The sound is compact and gets you into the moment. Its standout speakers surround you like a trance and transport you right into the virtual environment of the game.
