Introduction to the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band
For more than three decades, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band has been one of my favorite musical groups.
Their album, "Will the Circle Be Unbroken," quickly became one of my favorites, and I've worn out at least a dozen cassette tapes and 8-track tapes before I finally got a CD version of the album, which is holding up pretty well.
I was already a fan of Earl Scruggs' banjo playing, and John McEuen quickly caught my attention, too. Because of the two of them, I bought a Gibson Mastertone banjo and taught myself to play.
"Will the Circle Be Unbroken" was just the first of their albums that I have enjoyed over the years.
I created this lens mainly to link to their site and to publicly thank them for entertaining me for so many years.
