No-Candy Easter

Ranked #10,871 in Holidays & Celebrations, #185,598 overall

Have a Healthy Easter!

Why not step out of the mould this Easter and give gifts that don't involve candy/chocolate?

Every holiday ( Valentines Day, Christmas, Easter and Halloween ) the candy industry is making a killing!

I believe kids are eating way to much sugar. Think of all of the health problems, including obesity, that our generations are having to face because of the sugar and corn syrup added to our diets?

They don't need it, Easter can be just us much Fun without it! There are many healthier alternative to the traditional candy baskets and I wish you all a very Happy & Healthy Easter!

Kids Love Webkinz!

- fun and educational

Webkinz plush animals have become one of the top highly sought after toys. Each plush pet comes with a secret code that allows kids to go online to a virtual world and "adopt" their store-bought plush pet and care for it online for one year.

It's a great website for kids, especially those just learning to use a computer! They're good for both girls and boys in a wide age range.

There are so many games! When you play the games, you get Kinzcash that you can spend on all kinds of food (and you can use the food to make recipies) and furniture that your pet can interact with. It is a good way to teach children valuable life skills, such as saving money to buy something yourself and working for your money, while still incorporating fun games.

Love all the non-candy ideas! My son is getting Legos. My 2 youngest are getting accessories for their American Girl Dolls. Plus typical stuffers like coloring books, crayons, etc. I still do a little bit of candy, but it is usually homemade.

I'm going with the egg search but I'm putting numbers 1-10 in them and scattering them around the house. If she finds them in sequence great, if not, she has to keep the egg there with the number and try and find the one that corresponds with the previous number. A memory game and number game all in one.... The prize is quite large though, I always go overboard for Easter, however I only bought 1 chocolate. The rest of the basket is filled with toys like (yo-yo, bubbles, sidewalk chalk, clothes, bubble bath, coloring books, sunglasses) just to name a few. My daughter loves it.!!!!!

Those are some great ideas.. I like the toys and books and videos. But I also like the jello stuff so they get something to eat for Easter. Like Jello eggs.

Instead of Candy,

Give a Manatee This Easter!

Manatee

Adopt-A-Manatee
Helping to save endangered manatees has become a very popular gift alternative at Easter and other special occasions throughout the year.

Also check out the Word World & Mickey's Clubhouse toys!
