HERE'S WHAT I THINK

I can't make a lens in just ten minutes!

I know you say make a lens. It takes only ten minutes. BUT, with dial-up, and me wanting to make perfect lenses, there's NO WAY MonkeyBrain, that I can make a real good lens in just ten minutes!

Hey Guys~ Can it be done in only ten minutes?

Can it really be done?

What do you mean, make a lens in only ten minutes? I need a couple of DAYS to make one good enough to publish.

Do you think you can make a good lens in just ten minutes?

Yes, I'm Speedy!

spirituality says:

I think I can do it in half an hour if I know my subject well. But 10 minutes is only enough for the bare basics. I certainly don't need days though. I usually have most of my lens done in 3 hours or so.

KimberlyDawnWells says:

After two years of Squidoo experience, I say yup to "you can get a great start in 10 minutes." You get a feel for what you want to say, which modules you want to add and in which order, and what you know you'll need to wait until later to do. I'll sit down and crank out 80% of my material in 10 minutes, and fine tuning it, of course, is an ongoing process. ;)

No way, MonkeyBrain, I need a few DAYS!

CherylK says:

I think my fastest lens creation took four hours so, no, I don't think I can do a really good lens in ten minutes.

motorpurrr says:

Personally I like to add my own pics if I can, which means loading time onto photobucket, then there's typing up text in word document, deciding on module order, cutting and pasting, filling out tag words, HTML tricks. I don't see how people can do it unless they have 4 hands and 2 computers, or they just put together 3 ebay modules.

From Booklist
While the average computer book is as thick as the unabridged telephone directory to China, Godin's new Web marketing manual is so slender you'll actually want to read it. Geared primarily toward those designing, building, or owning retail Web sites, the text encourages us to picture the would-be shopper as a monkey (wearing a red fez) whose attention will wander if he can't instantly find a "banana": a simple objective on each page that leads to a reward. (The author insists the comparison is not demeaning, saying we're all monkeys once in a while.)

Good topic! I've actually tried to set a time limit on myself of one hour and have never been able to do it. But I'm going to keep trying. If I could do one in an hour, I'd be thrilled!

I took time to leave a long remark in the duel module, but didn't see if it 'took' ... great debate ... it takes me up to ONE day and then a few additional days to firm up a lens for a good one!
