Numerology - What Your Numbers Mean

The study of numbers has been around for centuries. Each of the nine numbers embodies different principles, and this is where numerology gets it's foundation. 

The number 1 is symbolic of the essential being and ego of the individual.  This number embodies being, ego, leadership, personal resources, and personal identity.

The number 2 symbolizes duality, which means that whatever we can imagine in this world has an opposite such as good and bad, hot and cold.  This number embodies duality, feeling, caring, either/or - imbalance, and the conscious mind.

The number 3 is the sum of 1 and 2, and therefore it's the result of unity's effect on duality. Bascially, 1 is being and 2 is to be or not to be, and 3 symbolizes doing.  it embodies personal creativity, action, forcefulness, initiative, and service.

The number 4 is associated with material reality.  It embodies logical thought, practicality, instincts, the concrete, and material world.

The number 5 symbolizes what it means to be human, the sum of the individual self in the material world.  It embodies the senses, expansion, flexibility, tolerance, and learning.

The number 6 is associated with intellect at an imaginative level. it embodies intellectual creativity, imagination, fantasy, abstract thinking, and theory.

The number 7 is the most difficult number to interpret, but the most rewarding to integarate into aname pattern.  It embodies setting limits, time, material attachments,the limits of the material world, and the bridge to the spiritual realm.

The number 8 symbolizes matter itself and has a strange and mystic nature.  It embodies the unconscious mind, transformation of the material, timeless space, both/and - balance, and Dharma: doing what has to be done.

The number 9 symbolizes the sum total of the spiritual creativity, innate talents and abilities of the individual that are compulsive, unresolved from former lives.  It embodies spiritual creativity, divine love, innate talents, completion, and Karma: reward for actions of previous lives.
