Improve Your Complexion With The Oil Cleansing Method!

I was hospitalized for a short time last year, and as I was cleaning up to go home, I found a sample of facial cleansing oil in my overnight bag. I get a lot of these types of samples when I'm modeling or styling for different vendors, so I tuck them away for just such an occassion.

I'd heard from different make up artists and estheticians that cleansing oils were excellent for all types of skin, especially oily skin, like mine. I was skeptical to say the least, but I gave it a try, and my husband commented on how good I looked when he came to pick me up.

Since I am always looking for ways to pamper myself on the cheap, I did some research into making cleansing oils at home. The ingredients are inexpensive and easy to find, and the results world class. With no harsh chemicals, all organic ingredients and a wonderful fragrance, it's great for your body, too.

Keep reading for more helpful tips and info. I hope you'll find your own special recipe for beautiful skin!

How To Use Facial Cleansing Oil

This is best done in the evening, two to three times a week.

*Massage cleansing oil liberally on your face (avoiding the eyes), neck and chest.
This will remove all the grime, makeup, and dead skin that's built up on your skin. Take your time with this, it can be your time to decompress and let go of that end of day stress. Remember to BREATHE!

*Soak a terry or flannel washcloth in hot water, ring it out and place it over your face to steam the skin and open the pores.
This helps release impurities trapped in your skin and helps you relax even more. Sit down for a few moments and enjoy.

*As the washcloth cools, gently wipe away the dirt and oil. Rinse the washcloth and repeat.
You may need to do this a few times to remove all the oil. Resist the urge to scrub, the cleansing oil and the washcloth will do all the work.

When you've thoroughly rinsed off, splash your face with cool water, to tone the skin and close pores.
Lightly moisturize if your skin feels tight:
take a small amount of EVOO/CO in your palm and massage it completely into your skin, making sure no residue remains. This is especially important for acne prone skin.

NOTE: Don't forget that a healthy diet, exercise, and sleep are essential to every beauty regime! Moisturize from the inside out by drinking plenty of water. See, you're glowing!

nice stuff here! I'm gonna try some of these.

My fave essential oil is sandlewood. I also like myrrh and jasmine and clove. I like the rich spice scents, those those, because they spell like the earth and forest trees, and I grew up in the forest, so they bring back good memories. I wonder if any of those would be safe for cosmetics? Not sure, cause they are pretty strong, esp sandlewood.

After reading your lens, you've inspired me to do some research into this now to see what else I can do with oils.

Thanks for the info!
