- I just heard that the Obuma administration has allowed the highest production of crude oil in the US in 2011 than in the past. Have you a chart that shows production by the month that covers the last few years? The reason is I just don't see that as a truth.
Thank you.

- This could use an update to reflect the Gulf oil spill.

- I think that this was very well put together. Unfortunately some of the data is a little old. The part about there only being .2 million barrels per day is based on old survey projections, and more recent ones have estimated that we could get 1 million barrels per day for every 8.5 billion barrels that are in OCS. Since the estimates have increased that means we will be able to produce roughly 10 million barrels per day, which is half of our daily consumption. Overall very nice overview of the issue.

- This is really well explained, especially the difference between the oil that's there and the oil that is recoverable as well as about the financial viability of drilling for all of it.

- Well presented lens but the answer in my view is not more oil production, but alternative energy sources and energy efficience.

- Five stars! My greatest concern is the risk that we are presented with because of our dependence on foreign oil. This gives our enemies the upper hand and compromises our security. I think this is why so many Americans support off-shore drilling. We want to have the ability to say no to our enemies and be self-contained.

- Very well done, you bring up a lot of interesting points. I didn't realize there even was a drilling ban. Linda

- We have to look at the word somehow leaving oil out of the picture. I'm sure there are companies queuing up to take this offshore oil, and when that runs out, there will be more, somewhere, that they say will have to be used. A mile under the floor of the Mariana Trench? An informative, thought-provoking and well researched lens.

- I think that this is a Great Lens, all things taken into consideration. You did a lot of great research putting this lens together, and the changing times we live in will have a big impact on the accuracy of certain aspects of it. None the less it gets a hi five from me! :)

- Great lens. Well presented information. The other issue is with increased storm activity, and increased intensity of those storms in the Gulf, we are subject to increased disruption of that supply. In my opinion, money spent on alternative fuels beyond oil and gas will be money better spent in the long run.
