In these tough economic times there has never been a better time to take up the pastime of camping with your family. It's good wholesome fun and it's a fantastic way to spend some real quality time with your loved ones. Speaking for myself and my family we have been camping in Ohio for many years and we have found that when it comes to campsites there is one campground that stands above all others.
Clay's Park Resort is the premier campsite in all of Ohio. Back in 1948 it was the vision of Mr. Otis D. Clay. The property for the park was secured in 1945 through the purchase of several tracts of land just southwest of Canal Fulton, Ohio.
Plans were developed around Otis's vision and work began in 1947. A complete "Family Fun Center" was the goal. The first task after clearing the land, was to tap into the natural spring that fed another lake on the property.
According to the CEO, Kevin McQuaide and COO, Peggy Clay McQuaide, our growth has allowed us not only to develop one of the finest RV Resorts in America but also to expand our newly renovated Melody Barn for music lovers.
Our grandfather's vision has now evolved to include two nationally known festivals at Clay's Park. For many years Clay's Park has been the host of thousands of people attending Yankee Peddler (37th year) and the ALIVE Christian Music Festival (22nd year).
Rock N Resort Music Festival (6th year) and Fox Creek Outdoor Experience(7th year) are two new festivals that Clay's Park is also hosting.

The Joys of Tent Camping
Camping With a Tent is My Favorite Way To Camp
Imagine waking up to the sound of birds singing, the wind rustling in the trees and comfortably snuggled in flannel softness, ready to start your day. Sounds great, doesn't it? That's what tent camping's all about. And you don't have to be experienced to savor it. Here are some reasons why tent camping is the best way to camp.
When using a tent there's no limit where you want to camp. Unlike RV and Pop-up camping, tent camping can be done anywhere as long as you have permission. Putting a tent in your backyard is a good idea of camping. You can enjoy it with your family and kids and it will also familiarize them with the joys of camping.
Secondly, it's affordable. With just a tent and tarp, you're ready to go on a great camping adventure. The great thing about tent camping is you can literally decide the night before that you want to go camping the next day and off you go.
Thirdly, you're close to nature. If you live in a large city, tent camping is a great way to see nature at its finest. Want a lake view? Just find a lake with a campground and you're all set. Love the beach? The same thing applies. Many lakes and beaches have campgrounds that cater to tent campers.
It's easy to set up. The way tents are made these days it only takes a few minutes to unpack and assemble the tent. Dome tents are the easiest to set up and usually come with easy to follow instructions.
Preparing for tent camping is a cinch. If you have the tent and sleeping gear, just add a flashlight, charcoal, food, a few folding chairs and a container for water and you're ready to go. You don't need to call for reservations. All you have to do is grab the things you need, put in your car and off you go.
Lastly, anyone can do it. Anyone can enjoy tent camping regardless of experience and age. If you love the outdoors and are willing to try something new, you can become a tent camper in no time at all.
