I never knew those delicious cakes with half a cherry and great coconut taste are called Madeleines. A Sunday teatime treat from long ago. Cakes are a big no-no now but I could scoff a plate full. Thanks for the lens.

Very nice lens! I didn't know that there were English madeleines. That recipes looks delicious - will have to try that. 5*s, favoriting, and lensrolling to my Yorkshire recipes lens!

There is a lot to be said for traditional English cooking. I keep meaning to create some lenses with my Mum's recipes. She was a great cake maker and pastry cook. I could just eat a nice home made steak and kidney pie right now.

It's great to see so many British lensmasters showcasing all that's good about our unfairly maligned national cuisine :)

5* and featured on my Welsh Cakes lens

I never tried British cooking but maybe I should give it a try, it sounds very tasty.

I didn't know there was a difference between English and French madeleines. Too bad my dad doesn't still go game hunting or I'd try the pie. 5*

The British generally have a reputation for having less than superior cuisine, but that raised game pie sounds pretty darn good to me!
