Old Fashioned New England Yankee Recipes and Cooking
Ranked #6,391 in Food & Cooking, #118,174 overall
Welcome to a Taste of New England
I grew up in a very historic town in Connecticut. When younger, I often babysat in homes that had beehive brick ovens and slanted floorboards. My imagination was stirred trying to envision what it was like to live in the 1700's and 1800s and do my cooking over an open Colonial hearth.
Travel throughout the 6 New England States and you will experience the diverse traditions unique to each state; Pure Maple Syrup, Vermont Cheese, fresh Beach Plum Jams and Jellies; Corn Chowders and more.
My grandmother lived to be 101, and passed down many of her favorite recipes to me, which I'd like to share with you.
Enjoy traveling to New England vicariously, sit a spell, stay for a bite to eat ~ we'll keep the coffee warm for you!

- Yummy recipes. My new son-in-law is from Boston so I think I'll incorporate some of these breads into my Thanksgiving diner this year. Thanks for sharing them.
