No it's not buying another "make money online" course. How many of those courses do you have now anyway? Are you still searching for the right one that will show you an easier, cheaper, or faster way to supplement your income? Would it make a difference even if you did?
Essentially what I'm driving at is it really doesn't make much of a difference what your business is, but you'll want to include a few core principles for it to be able to reach new heights.
First off you should really focus on something that would help other people. No matter what your beliefs may be, the fact is a business plan solely built around "looking out for #1" will only get you so far. If you can't represent something you truly see value in for others, than the cards are already stacked up against you. Just ask yourself the question "is this product or service something I can feel good about?" Would it be something you would feel proud to tell others about? You'll have a better shot at success if you're involved in a business that is aligned with more moral compass. Building a business is hard enough without dealing with your own conflicts about what your selling people. Just because you have the potential of reaching out to a large number of people, don't think that customers are expendable. There is still a whole lot that can be said about word of mouth advertising. How many blogs have you been in lately, in search of sincere opinions about a product or service?
Secondly, you'll want to build value in your product or service by giving your customers more than what they bargained for. You should always strive to give people more than what they ask for, because once people sense that you're more interested in helping them than running off with their money, than success will flow to you that much faster. By doing business in this fashion, you'll not only gain a customer, but you'll gain a certain level of loyalty. Since the average consumer usually doesn't buy until they see a product seven times, you might want to start focusing a little more in building relationships with people. That's why list building and "squeeze pages" are so popular. They exchange your e-mail for a free report or other product, in order to have the opportunity to build a relationship with you. These guys all know it will take a few times until you feel comfortable enough to buy from them and refer them to others.

This now leads me to the real secret. Do you think the above two strategies are designed to feed your ego or your attitude? Good guess, of course having a valuable product that gives people more than what they intended does more to strengthen your attitude, than weaken it. Having a service your proud of does more to strengthen your self confidence than weaken it as well. The one thing that people under estimate most, are their attitude, yet it influences every single decision you make. Whether you like spinach or want to build a financial empire, your perception and how you feel about that perception is what determines your reality.
This might surprise you a little, but for the most part, the world is kind of a negative place. If you really stop and contemplate that, you might find that even the jokes and comments made by your dearest friends and family members may show a tint of negative sarcasm or jealousy, or pessimism. You could probably reflect a little on the things you may be saying to yourself and others. Do you ever tell yourself something is too hard, impossible, you'll believe it when you see it, sounds too good to be true, or that you give up? Do you realize that although it may appear your saying those things to other people, you're also saying them to yourself as well as your subconscious?
So what's the alternative? Should you maybe run down to the store, pick yourself up some new fancy "rose colored glasses"? Turn yourself into some sort of wide eyed giggling freak that frightens children and small pets? Abandon all the important people in your life and become a hermit just for the sake of being able to think happy thoughts all the time?

Well although those would all actually probably work wonders, which are really not what I had in mind. All I'm trying to convey to you here is that when you are in the process of expanding your limitations, you really have to start being careful about what you think about. I don't care what it is you set off to do. It could be google adwords, blogging, e-mail campaigns, drop shipping, affiliate sites, auctions, writing articles, forex, stocks, or whatever. You are going to run into obstacles, and whether you view those obstacles as "too hard" or "learning opportunities" is solely up to you.
You can make some simple changes in your life today that will make a difference. For example do you really need to sit through 3 gang shootings, four robberies and two car accidents just to find out what the weather is going to be like? I hope for your sake it's a good forecast. When your friends start to complain about something, do you join in and escalate it? Do you feel better or worse after that? Are you involved in politics? Is it really worth it? Do you read the paper at all? What stories are you gravitating towards. What type of music do you listen to? What do you tell yourself when things don't go the way you intend? All this stuff through out the day can compound and make you shout "I just knew this would happen, I quit!" when you loose $10.00 bucks on a "Pay Per Click" ad.

The rewards are great for the people that can persist. It's easier to persists if you can down size whatever stands in your way, than to make a big deal about them, or to use them to actually validate your own fears towards business. Try not to get too emotionally attached to the outcomes. Naturally, it's easier to do this if you test your product or services to your market on a small scale first. Your survival is dependent on how you push through your problems, and it's easier to do that if you view your problems as small ones.
