Having trouble picking an online guitar course? No worries: by the time you're done with this page, you'll know exactly which one is best for you!

Here's my story: I bought a cool online guitar lesson product, liked it, and decided to set up a guitar web class to help people learn to play guitar online. Members of the web class have asked me to review some other guitar courses, so I did!

This page is an overview of all of the guitar courses I've reviewed so far, and I promise it will help you decide which one will help you most. Enjoy!

Quick Summary:

JamPlay.com is my favorite way to learn guitar, by far. Check out this JamPlay review to learn all about it, or head over to www.JamPlayCoupon.com to get 25% off your first month!

It's all about the Benjamins...or is it?

First off, I want to get you thinking about the issue on everyone's mind before they buy something: money.

No matter how awesome this course is, if you can't afford it (or you don't think it'd be worth the money), then I can show you some really cool courses in your budget instead of wasting your time.

#1 - JamPlay

JamPlay: JamPlay.com is an awesome community for guitar players of all levels, and is the best product overall, especially if you have a particular guitar style you want to learn.

If you want to be able to talk to other guitarists about your lessons and/or you would like to learn a specific style of guitar (blues, jazz, rock, punk, bluegrass, etc.), JamPlay is an excellent deal...I mean come on: $19.95/month for unlimited access?! Compare that to $15-$25 per 30-minute lesson, and it's no wonder they have 1,000's of members.

On top of that, I found a JamPlay Coupon Code that saves 25% on your first month. Check out www.JamPlayCoupon.com to get the code and save some cash.

#2 - Learn and Master Guitar

Learn and Master Guitar: In a close 2nd, Learn and Master Guitar is the best DVD course of all that I've tried, but its' high-cost and wait time for shipping put it behind JamPlay.

Learn and Master Guitar comes with 10 or 20 DVD's 5 CD's, a lesson workbook, and forum to talk to other guitarists. If you'd prefer a physical, more traditional course, this is your best bet.

But, it costs $149 ($199 for the deluxe version) and it takes a while to get it shipped to your house, so keep that in mind.

#3 - Jamorama

The original Jamorama: In my opinion, this is a solid online guitar course, and is the cheapest course I've found (that is actually worth something). It comes with 148 video lessons, an awesome eBook that's jam-packed with guitar tips, 2 free bonus software guitar lesson games and more...

The sweetest part is that it's only $39.95, and you can download the whole thing securely in less than 10 minutes!

DON'T BUY: Team Method Guitar

This package is practically the same thing as the original Jamorama system, just repackaged and cooler looking. It does incorporate a few pros from various guitar style realms, but if you're looking for that, JamPlay is a MUCH better option.

(Actually, in that case, the best option overall would be to go get Jamorama and then sign up for JamPlay to get help with the specific styles you're interested in from the guys at JamPlay and the community forum.)

Even getting Jamorama and paying for 3 months to JamPlay would cost the same as Team Method Guitar, and you would get WAY more out of it that way!

DON'T BUY: Next Level Guitar

Next Level Guitar is a video series site, but they break the video lessons up into different categories...sometimes even as specific as 1 song!

Sounds cool at first, until you hear that their simple 4-DVD series' cost $99 each! That's just simply not worth it based on their lesson outlines. (I have not purchased these. They could be worthy, but it's unlikely.)

If I were looking for video lessons, and didn't mind paying up to $300 or more (3 DVD sets complete the main series), I would most definitely get Learn and Master Guitar, Jamorama, and 3 months at JamPlay instead!!!

MAYBE: Jamorama Lead

If you're into playing lead guitar, and you would be willing to pay $29.99 for some cool videos and a couple books about it, Jamorama Lead is great.

But, be warned: if you haven't already gotten some other beginner-level lessons, then I wouldn't get it. If you would consider yourself an intermediate level player and you have the desire to play solos, go for it. Otherwise, don't worry about this one...

MAYBE: Jamorama Acoustic

Similarly to Jamorama Lead, if you have the desire to play acoustic guitar in particular, then Jamorama Acoustic is worth the money.

BUT: if you already have Jamorama, it's a really bad deal. They just didn't add enough to the original to make that worthwhile. Only get Jamorama Acoustic if you haven't picked up the original, and you're into solely acoustic music.

Online Guitar Course Reviews Wrap-Up

So, to wrap things up: if you're willing to spend $20/month, check out my JamPlay review to get a 25% off coupon code and get rocking. I highly recommend it, I still belong there, and I honestly believe it's the best way to learn guitar. Period.

If you are looking to advance your playing tremendously, and you're pretty sure you would be willing to pop in a DVD every day or two to practice with and learn from, Learn and Master Guitar is an excellent choice. (Provided the $149 price tag is within your guitar improvement budget...)

I hope these reviews helped out!

Have a great day,
Kyle
