Norman is now on MySpace

Add Norman as Your Friend today!

Norman has been pestering me for the use of my computer. Little did I know that he's been desperate to meet new people and get the word out on the life lesson he learned from Riley.

In order to meet people from around the world, Norman has created a MySpace profile which includes photos (aka illustrations) of himself and his canine companion, Bert.

Meet Norman, a lovable guy with lots of love to share.

Germany

Facts, stats and other info to keep you "In the Know"

Since all Kane/Miller books are originally published in countries other than the U.S., I thought I'd see how well I would do on the Geography Quiz!

If you scored as low as I did, perhaps it might be helpful to discover new lands and revisit the countries from which many of our great books originate. The following titles were published previously in Germany:

And What Comes After a Thousand?
Antonella and her Santa Claus
Apollo
Counting with Apollo
Flusi, the Sock Monster
Learning to Fly
Selma
Something is Not Quite Right!
What Eddie Can Do

Fact: From 1945 - 1990, Berlin was divided into two countries, West Germany and East Germany. It was divided by an enormous wall called the Berlin Wall. The wall was knocked down in 1989, and the countries are no longer separate.

Jen Robinson's Book Page
Jen Robinson has always loved books, especially children's books and mysteries. She feels strongly that more children should grow up with the opportunity to love books and that more adults should try reading children's books, and that the ones who do should be able to share their thoughts on children's books with others. We couldn't agree more.
Kids Bookshelf Book Reviews
Children's book reviewer Christina Lewis.

Kids Literati
I am a children's book aficionado. My earliest memories are of going to the library with my mother, reading stories with my parents or siblings, or staring at the pages of children's books from the stacks in our house. (The author of this blog wrote this, but it echoes my own memories...)
Mother Reader
In her own words: If you're a dad, you may want to read something else to your kid besides Clifford the Big Red Dog... Since you're going to spend this time with your child - and you are, aren't you? - you might as well have fun.

More than once in the past few months, I've received proof that people in the book industry (I won't name any names) have visited Southern California without stopping in to say hello.
Simply let me know you're going to be in the area and I'll reserve a table with a view. Promise!
