The chakras are the seven major energy centers of the body. The heart chakra, which is the fourth of the seven, is your center for unconditional love. It is located in the center of your chest, and is responsible not only for the heart but also the circulatory system, respiratory system, arms, shoulders, hands, diaphragm, ribs/breasts and thymus gland.

Feelings such as love,grief,hatred, anger, jealousy, and bitterness over betrayal are all stored in the heart chakra.

This is why it is important for us to open up our heart chakra and heal it.
We must look deep inside of ourselves and find the negative emotions and feelings we are harboring.

Ask yourself questions such as:

What negative emotions have I been holding onto that I need to heal?

Is there something I should forgive myself for?

Are there any past or current relationships of mine that I need to heal?

In order to fully open up our heart chakra we need to do some soul searching. The heart chakra naturally holds onto our deepest feelings. We need to release the negative ones because they can subconsciously be impairing us from truly loving ourselves. If we are not truly loving ourselves, we will not be able to form good relationships and love other people.

With practice, we will be able to generate a powerful energy of unconditional love. People will notice this new energy within you, and the best thing about it is that if you give off this positive energy to others, they will give it back to you as well.

Metta Practice

I would like to share with you a powerful practice that is effective in opening the heart chakra . It is part of the Buddhist tradition and is called "Metta Practice".

The term "Metta" literally means "living kindness".

Metta practice is a special meditation exercise focusing on your well being as well as the well being of others. It is a great way to get in touch with the balance point of your body and spirit.

1. Begin by finding a place to sit comfortably. You can sit cross-legged on the floor on a pillow or use a chair if you prefer.

2. Close your eyes and try to relax, start taking slow deep breaths.

3. Focus all your attention on the area of your heart, let your breathing arise from that area. Listen closely to what your heart is trying to tell you. You may come to a better understanding of what you truly long for.

4. Now visualize radiating outward in a series of concentric circles this well being for others you have a close intimacy with. For example, you may want to begin with your husband or wife, and then your parents, then onto friends or distant family members etc.

5. You can take this exercise further to include other people you know or don't know. Or you can end this exercise once you feel you are finished.

How I Became Successful In Opening My Heart Chakra 

I have spent a long time testing different approaches to open my chakras. I even made a special emphasis on finding the perfect method for opening the heart chakra.
