Things to Do in Arizona: Part 1
The Grand Canyon
There are campgrounds available along many parts of the North Rim managed by Kaibab National Forest. (These campsites are open seasonally due to snow etc.) All overnight camping below the rim requires a backcountry permit from the Backcountry Country Office. If you are unable to secure a permit from the Grand Canyon Backcountry Office, or you are not comfortable hiking the Canyon on your own you can go with a professional guide.
For more sightseeing options, travel by train is another popular idea for Grand Canyon sightseeing. The Cocino Canyon Train is a 90 minute ride that travels from the Grand Canyon Depot and travels 24 miles through the canyon landscapes. If you are feeling slightly more adventurous the Hualapai Tribe has recently opened up an incredible see-through glass walkway called the Grand Canyon Skywalk.
