We all have those draws in our house.....

You know the ones, the dumping draw!  Where you end up throwing the reciepts, catalogues, tickets, clippings, and all other in sundry.

I hope in this lens to help others create a clearer, calmer environment around them in their home and home office.

Life can be some much better and we can gain so much more time when the things in our homes are organized and running smoothly.

Storage solutions are all around.

We all when we are organizing want idea's of where to store things. Where to buy them and for those that can't afford expensive storage solutions, what we can use that is around the house.

There are so many places, in every part of the world.

Cheap options are plastic bags, shoe boxes, plastic boxes and containers from delivered food. You just have to make sure that the boxes and containers are well cleaned and aired.

Try to work out ahead of time what you are going to store, how much space you have and how often you use the things that you are about to put into containers and boxes.

If you have room then the things that you use less often can be put either in the top of a cupboard, in the garage, or if you have one, then in an attic.

A great idea if you have lots of little bitty items in the bathroom, bedroom, kitchen or home office is to use a tackle box. You will be amazed what you will be able to store in one of these!

Once you have space

Take time to smell the roses

To often these days we get caught up in the business that is life...... We don't have things well enough planned that we can actually have some couple/family/me time and its so so important!

Remember, that is you have an organized home, you will end up with more time to spend doing the fun things, the reading, the coffee's, the sleep ins....

Once you have your time organized, you will be amazed at what you can do!

So, come on lets do it! Lets get organized and start enjoying life again!

Take your declutter one step at a time!

I suggest that you don't go mad....

Take your time.....

I know a while back a friend called and said that she had pulled everything out of her bedroom and didn't know how she would get through it all before she went to bed at night....

Over I went and we started making piles, I got her to find 4 boxes and we wrote on them, Rubbish, storage, charity and sell. As we were going through her gear I encouraged her to purge as much as possible. If she hadn't looked at it and it wasn't sentimental then it was out.

Two full on hours later we were ready to put things back in the room. An hour after that it was all finished and looked great.

As I left, I suggested that next time she may want to start at one end of the room and work her way round, as apposed to emptying everything out of the room.

Its much easier to work you way around, than all at once.

Hope this helps, when you start to declutter and organize your home.
