Welcome to Ormond Beach, Florida
Ormond Breach is a fantastic place to live and a wonderful small community. Ormond Beach is clean, the traffic is not congested and it is realtively crime free. It's the type of community you feel relatively safe leaving your doors unlocked at night. I've lived here since 2002 after relocating from Ft. Lauderdale and I've never regretted moving here.
There's not as much nightlife as in South Florida but we are only 45 minutes east of Orlando and a little bit over an hour south of Jacksonville. It's roughly 3 hours to Ft. Lauderdale or Tampa from Ormond Beach, so it makes a very central location to all of the major metropolitan areas of Florida.
Ormond Beach is a oceanfront community with the majority of the city residing beachside across the intracoastal waterway (also known as the Halifax River). John D. Rockefeller retired and spent the last years of his life here at his home called "The Casements" which is a short walk from my residence.
Ormond Beach borders Daytona Beach to the north and Flagler Beach to the south. There's plenty of pristine, uncrowded beaches here and you can drive on the beach.
