Our Daily Bread

I started to incorporate these devotionals into my prayer time. This has been a blessing in my life. If you have a prayer time and are looking for a guide, this little book has done wonders to my prayer time and allowed me to think about being a Christian and what Jesus has called me to do.
I feel that God has called me to write these devotionals down and share them with those who need a word of encouragement or a sense of direction for someone to go through during the course of the day. I would like to gather a following of people who will read "Our Daily Bread" everyday with me. I would also like feedback from others when they read this book. I feel that one lesson a day is best and to try to reflect upon this lesson throughout the day. Remember the Lord stated clearly to give us "Our daily bread" not weekly, monthly or yearly bread when he gave his disciples "The Lord's Prayer." Jesus wants us to focus on one day at time and to do his will for that day.

Lord God, you sent your son as a baby to be the savior of mankind. He came to be born so that we might have eternal life with him forever. He came down in human form to take our sins away by dying on cross. Empower us to teach these truths to others. Empower us to remember those who are hurting and those who are less fortunate than us. Help us to share what we have, as God has been generous with us with many things. Lord God, Blessed Trinity, help us to think about how small we are in such a big universe. However you know us by name and you know the needs of those who you love. You never forgot us in the good times and bad. Empower us to serve you by reading your word and doing the will that you set us to do. Empower us to teach these truths to others. All glory, praise and honor is yours Lord Jesus, Amen. (Isiah 40: 25-27)

God Alone

Lord God, Blessed Trinity, help us to remember we are all one in Christ. We each have a specific part to play but yet you are to get the glory. For you are the one that allows all parts to function as a whole to suit your purpose on this earth. Let us seek to avoid getting credit for anything and send our prayers to God so that he may repay us in secret and in his way. Help us to teach these truths to others. All glory, power and praise belong to you alone Lord God, Amen. (1 Corinthians 3: 1-9)

No Cause For Alarm

Lord God, blessed Trinity, anger is an emotion that you have given us. Empower to use it correctly and in the context of your will. Help us use anger to right wrongs in our lives and to change the rules in our society. Empower us to control unrightious anger that comes from selfishness, hurt pride or anything else ungodly. Empower us to teach these truths to others. All Glory, honor and praise is yours Lord Jesus, Amen. (Ephesians 4: 25-32)

Jehovah-Jireh

Lord God, Blessed Trinity, empower us to do your will daily. Remind us that you will provide all of our needs if we simply ask in your name. Empower us to give to others who are in need and listen's to God's will when he ask to give away what rightly belongs to him. Help us to remember everything belongs to God and we are simply stewards of what he has given us. Empower us to teach these truths to others. All glory, power and praise is yours Lord Jesus, Amen. Lord God, Blessed Trinity, you deserve nothing less then our best. Empower us to use the gifts and the talents you have given us to bring others to you for healing and salvation. What Can You Do

Lord God, Blessed Trinity, when we are strained by the demands of life, help us to seek your power and guidance in all that we do. Help us to seek the true gift of a relationship with you and the seeking of your will. In this we will experience true joy that no one can take away. Help us to seek  your will daily and teach others to do the same. All power, glory and praise is yours Lord Jesus, Amen.(Ephesians 3: 14-21)

He Doesn't Stand A Chance

Lord God, Blessed Trinity, it is only through your power that we overcome the snares, traps and temptations of the Devil. Give us this strength daily as we live our lives. Empower us to remember that we can overcome any adversity as long as we are do your will an obey your laws. Help us to maintain balance in our lives so that we may not fall in one aspect due to too much focus on another. Empower us to teach this to others and to bring others to you for healing and salvation. All honor, glory and praise belongs to you Lord Jesus, Amen. (Ephesians 6: 10-18)

Finding Jesus

Lord God, Blessed Trinity, empower us to remember that nothing in this universe can take your love away for us. Help us to remember that when we are feeling depressed and lonely that you are always there waiting for us to turn to you for fellowship. Help us to remember that you will provide for all of our needs when we need them. Help us to teach these truths to others. All honor, glory and praise is yours Lord Jesus, Amen. (Romans 8: 27-39)

The Best Of Gifts

Lord God, Blessed Trinity, help us to give the gifts of the spirit to the ones we love and ones who need them most of all. This includes listening, appropriate affection, laughing with others (not at others), and written/spoken words of encouragement. The greatest gift we can share is the love of God, who loved the world enough to send his Son to die for our sins. Empower us to share the gift of his love and the power of our testimony to his mercy, love and forgiveness. Empower us to share these truths to others. Lord God, Heavenly Father, in this war with Satan and his demons, help us to fight back with your holy word. In a world of materialism and secularism, help us to fight the lies of the enemy and to focus on living a life that is pleasing to you. Lord Jesus, help us to pull any spiritual darkness we may have from our hearts so that we may follow you with a pure heart and a deep understanding of your will. Help us to share the light of your salvation with others so that they may too turn to you for healing and guidance. Is He Enough?

Lord Jesus, Heavenly God, help us to remember that no matter what gifts you have given us, you are the greatest gift and should be valued above all else. Help us to remember that you are our greatest asset and ally in a war against Satan and the world. Make Way

Lord God, heavenly father, help us to make way in our lives for you. Expose us to our faults and shortcomings so that we may beg for help to improve these areas of our lives. Help us to be content with the peace that you give us and to serve you with a whole heart. Help us to remove the things that keep from serving you with a whole heart. Lord Jesus, help us to remember that no one is perfect and we must deal with each others personality flaws and opinions. Help us to love and except those people as you Lord Jesus except us. Help us to remember we may think differently on some things we are still one body as you as the head of the body. Help us to love unconditionally and to serve without reservation. Lord Jesus, as we celebrate memorial day, let us be reminded of all of those who fought and many died to ensure the freedoms that we enjoy today. Let us never forget the sacrifices of many so that all could live in peace and freedom. Lord God, help us to continue to guard our freedoms from those who would do it harm. There are those in this country who want to take these freedoms away. Help us to raise our voices in opposition and make sure those enemies, both external and internal, don't take them away. Lord God, Heavenly father, give us a discerning heart so that we may know what is truly good and what is truly evil in your eyes. Lord God, heavenly father, help us each day to bear witness to your Son, Jesus that died for our sins and rose from the dead to conquer sin and death forever. Armed For The Fray

Lord Jesus, help us to put on and use the "full armor of God" when we wake up in the morning and never to take it off until we sleep at night. Help us to use this armor to resist temptation and to help fight the ruler of this World, Satan. Help us to pray constantly day and night in the silence of our minds so that we may keep our direction of your holy will. Lord God, Blessed Trinity, we have or we will lose loved ones in our lives. Help us to remember that you are always in control of life and death. Help us also to remember we will always miss our loved ones when they have passed. Time does heal some things but memory of the loved one never goes away. Help us to mourn and to heal and to go on with our lives as the memory of the good times to keep us going. Lord God, Blessed Trinity, help us to root out and confess any pride that we have in what we are and in what we do. Lord God, Heavenly Father, help us to seek us in all stages of our lives and to live each day doing your will that you have given us to do. Lord God, Blessed Trinity, give us the ability to speak the gospel to the hardest of non-believers. Let us be the "Salt and Light" that leads them to you. Help us to find common ground with all men and find ways to share the gospel that will open their heart. Help us to relay what you want us to say about your kingdom when we speak to others about you. Lord God, help us to remember that we must be willing up to give up our life styles and comfort zone to get the Gospel to others if that is what you call us to do. Lord God, Blessed Trinity, help us to surrender our lives to you on a daily basis and leave our old ways behind. Help us to become more affective witnesses in the word. Help us to love our enemies, show generosity with others and stop criticizing and judging others. Lord help us to live and abide by the rules and the examples that you set while you were on earth. Meditate On These Things

Lord God, Blessed Trinity, help us to meditate on your goodness, your power, your word each and every day. Help us to focus on this so that we will imitate you better in our lives and turn other hearts to your for healing and salvation. Ongoing Encouragement

Lord God, Blessed Trinity help us to become better Fathers to our children and friends to our Grandchildren. Help us to always encourage our children and slow to judge, criticize and complain when our children do not meet our expectations. Help us to make our families feel that we appreciate them for what they do and who they are. They were entrusted to us so we must as fathers and husbands take care of them and to lead our families in the Christian faith. Amen. (Colossians 3: 14-25)

Lord Jesus, help us to remember that this life is only temporary and the best is yet to come. Help us to focus on doing your will, whatever it may be. Lord God, you throne is open to all and your are always there no matter what time day or night. Help us to remember to come to you with all of our concerns, question and decisions that need answering. Help us to come to your throne to make sure we are daily following your will for our lives. Lord God, Blessed Trinity, we often fight your will and resist changing our ways. However this is necessary to accomplish your will for our lives. Lord God, Blessed Trinity, Loving Father, help us to realize that is now that we must turn to you for blessing, forgiveness and healing. Help us to remember it will be too late when you wrath and judgment occurs on this world. Lord God, blessed Trinity, help us to obtain wise council before making decisions that will affect the course of our lives. Help us to listen to criticism so that we may learn more about ourselves and to avoid possible issues with sin and pride. Help us to learn from others, so that we don't make the same mistakes that others make. Help us to remember that sin is always noticed by you, even if everyone else is ignorant of it. Lord God, Blessed Trinity, help us to focus on spreading your word to others. Empower us to speak words of encouragement, faith and hope to those who have none and who do not know you. Heavenly God, send us out to those who are lost so that we may lead them to you for healing and salvation. Lord God, Blessed Trinity, help us to remember we are to help those who can't help themselves. We as Christians must follow your example and help not only the lost, but fellow Christians who have fallen away. Empower us to help them, encourage them and bring them back to you. Help us to help the lost, the lonely, the shut-in and the sad. Empower us to bring others to you for love, healing and forgiveness. Empower us to teach these truths to others. Lord God, Blessed Trinity, help ut to remember what we are working for and what we want to achieve, to go to Heaven and be with you forever. Help us to remember that nothing compared on this earth will compare to being home and being with you forever. Help us to work towards this goal by surrendering our will to you and doing your will daily. Empower us to teach these truths to others. All glory, honor and praise is yours, Lord Jesus, Amen.

Heaven On Earth?

Lord God, Blessed Trinity, help us to remember that nothing on earth will compare to what is in Heaven. Empower us to remember that nothing or no one will compare to the relationship that we have in you. Empower us to remember that the longing we all feel can only be satisfied with a relationship with you and the surrender of our own will to you. Help us to seek you and your will always in what we do and what we say to others. Empower us to teach these truths to others, Amen. All glory, honor, and praise is yours Lord Jesus, Amen. (Ecclesiastes 2: 15-26)

Preventing Regret

Lord God, Blessed Trinity, help us to become humble and teachable when we try to mend broken relationships with others. Empower us to try to reach out to those who are hurting and those who need your help. Father, help us to avoid the sin of pride and be the first one to ask for forgiveness. Help us to love others with the Christian Love that you have given to us. We know not the hour or the day of anyone's death, so help us to reach out to those people before it is too late. All honor, glory and praise is yours Lord Jesus, Amen. (2 Samuel 18:31 - 19:4)

Called to Serve 

11-24-09

Lord God, Blessed Trinity, help us to remember we must be good servants and stewards of what you have given us. Empower us to be a good and faithful servant to your will. Help us to remember that a good leader is always a good servant first and foremost. Help us to serve and to do your will when called upon. Empower us to teach these truths to others. All glory, honor and praise is yours Lord Jesus, Amen. (Mark 10: 35-45)

Lord God, Heavenly Father help us to spread the word about you to those who need it. Empower us to share the good news of the gospel to those you put in our lives. Help us to lead a life of action and service so that others may see you through us. Empower us to bring others to you for healing and forgiveness. Help us to commission others to do the same. Lord God, Blessed Trinity, we as a people and even as Christians are not always a grateful and thankful to you for what you have give us. Help us to turn our hearts to you to confess we are not grateful and worthy of what you give us. You have given us much and we are not worthy of it. Change our hearts Lord and remind us of the gifts and material items you have given us. To those who think they have nothing to be thankful for consider this. We should be thankful and grateful that a perfect God looked at his sinful creation and sent his only son to die a cruel, horrible death to take away the sin debt that we carry. That in itself is the most important gift that God gave his people. Ponder upon these things. Dear Jesus, help us to meet you today with a spirit of Thanksgiving and Hope. All glory, honor, praise and Thanksgiving are yours Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe. Amen. (Nehemiah 9: 32-37)

Loved Well

Lord God, Blessed Trinity, empower us to remember that you loved us so well, that you died on a cross to save us from our own sin. Empower us to share your love with others. In this, others may know you and turn to you for healing and salvation. During this holiday season let us stop and be grateful to what a loving God has given us. Empower to share these truths with others. All power, glory and honor is yours Lord Jesus, Amen. (Ephesians 3:14-21)

Lord God, Blessed Trinity, empower us to remove gossip from our lives and out of our conversations. Help us to ignore such things and to stay away from the conversation if gossip is introduced. Empower us to only speak about someone in a godly manner. Help us to speak with encouragement, joy and hope when we engage others in conversation. Empower us to teach these to others. All glory, honor and praise is yours, Lord Jesus, Amen.(Proverbs 26: 20-28)
