Hit the road hard 2010!

Diesel engines have been in use since the 1910's in ships and submarines. Soon the engines would used in large, trucks , locomotives,  tractors,   and other automotives. A boom began in the 1930's for on-road and off-road diesel trucks that would start turn into a billion dollar business and feed and employ many families.

Truckers have been moving goods and frieght since man slapped  rubber on wheels! The trucking industry boom really exploded back in 1939  when GM formed the Diesel Division. With World War 2 heating up and a need to move goods GM found a niche for diesel engines and trucks.

The war had just ended and Gm saw a larger opporunity for high-way transportation and would soon be moving goods in every state. In 1957 GM introduced a new motor that would soon changed the power and dependablity of trucks. The Series 71 and series 53 engines were introduced and were strong on-road and off road as well.

With great success with the new  powerful engines GM launched a world wide fleet of independent dealers and Services to meet the fast changing world.  Essentialy over night there was a boom in Truck Driving Jobs and other trucking industry jobs.

From heavy haul carriers,  logging truck, contruction trucks,  local carriers,  to specialty trucks for  the transpotation industry. The list would soon grow into many business niches and the growing demand  would be one of top industry's in the world. Plus with a growing demand for food and materials would need the heavy trucks for farming and agriculture needs.

Mechanics were also in high demand and  as well as freight -brokers , managers,  and logistic specialist.

In 2008 almost 3.4 million drivers, logistics and carrier experts worked hard to move many needed goods.

Truck Driving Jobs

With 3.4 million truck drivers in 2008 56% tractor trailer drivers and long haul truckers. 8 percent of drivers were self-employed owner operators including sales workers The trucking industry is moved by sales associates, logistics experts, freight-brokers, freight forwarders, software developers web marketing specialist, webmasters and lead generators.

It is predicted that by 2018 there will be over 4.5 million truck driving  jobs around the world.

With high gas prices and an unstable ecomony there is unsure fate in the trucking industry. Many owner operators feel the prices the worst as it takes much of their profits to keep the trucks on the road.  Not only do they have to pay for diesel out of pocket, but they have top pay for permits, licence's,  repair,  insurance,  fines, fee's and other  expenses.

To keep America moving and to support the Trucking Industry there needs to a faster movement for change. One thing would be a tax cut for independent owner operators  and for larger companies that go green.

Eco-frienly trucking is becoming  in demand as government regulation smacks down on many industries, plus it is the right thing to do!

If the government would lower gas prices the trucking industry  could return to the booming business it was  back in the 80's and through 2000! Many truckers would be able to fill up that truck and hit the road. Not only would this help the trucking industry but it would also help revive the slow economy we are in!

So next time you have a chance to make a  difference  spread your voice  and lets wake up America for a bright greener future.
