With high gas prices and an unstable ecomony there is unsure fate in the trucking industry. Many owner operators feel the prices the worst as it takes much of their profits to keep the trucks on the road. Not only do they have to pay for diesel out of pocket, but they have top pay for permits, licence's, repair, insurance, fines, fee's and other expenses.
To keep America moving and to support the Trucking Industry there needs to a faster movement for change. One thing would be a tax cut for independent owner operators and for larger companies that go green.
Eco-frienly trucking is becoming in demand as government regulation smacks down on many industries, plus it is the right thing to do!
If the government would lower gas prices the trucking industry could return to the booming business it was back in the 80's and through 2000! Many truckers would be able to fill up that truck and hit the road. Not only would this help the trucking industry but it would also help revive the slow economy we are in!
