That's me in the picture after I completed the P90X Extreme Home Fitness 90 day workout program: The best 90 day workout program I have ever tried! In fact, I canceled my gym membership at Gold's Gym after I finished this program. I couldn't think of any machine I could use, or any class I could take that would give me the results that P90x did.

What Do You Get With The P90X Workout Program?
The P90X workout program comes with 12 different DVD's. I thought this was great because you're not doing the same thing every day. This was probably the most important aspect of the workout program in terms of keeping me interested for 90 days.Each of the 12 (plus one introduction DVD) highly diverse and intense DVD workouts focuses on either a specific set of muscle groups or a unique training technique.
* Workout One: Chest & Back. This superset chest-and-back-blasting workout emphasizes two classic upper-body exercises--push-ups and pull-ups--to build strength and develop shape.
* Workout Two: Plyometrics Get ready to go airborne. Offering more 30 explosive jumping moves, this intense cardio routine will keep you in the air most of the time.
* Workout Three: Shoulders & Arms. Nothing rounds out the perfect physique like a pair of well-defined arms and shoulders, and with its potent combination of pressing, curling, and fly movements, this routine will leave you feeling stronger and looking sexier.
* Workout Four: Yoga X. Yoga is a vital part of any fitness regimen, and is an absolute must for an extreme program like P90X.
* Workout Five: Legs & Back. Get ready to squat, lunge, and pull for a total-body workout like no other.
* Workout Six: Kenpo X. Kenpo X was created to give P90X users a high-intensity cardiovascular workout packed with lots of punching and kicking combinations to improve balance, endurance, flexibility, and coordination.

Plenty of people purchase the P90X workout program but either never open it (that's right--never open it), or quit too soon.I was successful for a number of reasons:
1) I did the P90X program with my husband. This was key because we kept each other going. He woke up early in the morning (around 4:30 a.m.) to complete his workout, or worked out when he got home from work. I worked out in the morning after the kids went to school. I figured if he could get up in the early morning to do his workout, I could certainly do one at 9:30 a.m. I had no excuses! Find someone you can do this program with. Either a spouse, a significant other, or a friend. You don't have to live in the same house. Just keep each other accountable for your daily workouts.
2) I didn't get frustrated when I couldn't do something; I modified. When I first started out, I could only do twelve push-ups at one time. When I finished the 90 days, I could do thirty. I worked up to it. I got stronger every day. If I couldn't do a regular push-up, I dropped to my knees and did them that way. By the end, I was doing all my push-ups like the men! Don't give up! Do what you can do and keep going! I promise you, you will get stronger every day.
3) I made sure I worked out six days a week. I took Sunday off each week. However, if I had something going on in the middle of the week and couldn't work out one day, I would take that day off and workout on Sunday. You need to be flexible. If you need to skip a day, do a double workout the next day, or pick up where you left off. There were a couple of times when my workout called for yoga or plyometrics, but I ran outside with a friend. Be flexible but get it done!
4) I wrote everything down. The program calls for writing your results down. You can download free workout sheets at Beachbody.com. Do it! Follow their workout sheets. It's important to see what you were able to do before so you can push yourself to do better. I never wrote anything down during my workouts before doing this program and I can tell you, this too was one of the reasons I was so successful.
5) I didn't get hung up about my weight. I didn't lose any weight doing this program but my husband lost twelve pounds! I was thin to begin with and I actually gained two pounds. No worries; I was tighter and stronger than ever before! Trust me, when you feel your sides get really tight, you will be thrilled!

- I LOVE this lens! I'm a Beachbody coach, and am working my way UP to p90x!! But you've given me hope...your advice about not being discouraged, but rather by adapting to the level you're able to work is so smart. Even Tony Horton says, 'Do your best...and leave the rest!', right? Keep up the great work!
