The PCI Security Standards Council for PCI Scanning and Compliance

If you are still in the process of ensuring your business or website is complying with the PCI Security Standards, then I have a good source for you. It is the PCI Security Standards Council. The PCI Security Standards Council is made up of five major credit card companies, and they are the organization that put together the PCI Data Security Standards, otherwise known as PCI DSS. They are kind of the main hub of information for PCI compliance and their website is one of the main sources I have found for all my research.

The PCI Security Standards are made up of two essential steps. The first step is for your business to pass daily or quarterly PCI scans performed by an ASV, or Approved Scanning Vendor. The second step is to complete a self assessment questionnaire (SAQ). The self assessment questionnaire asks detailed questions about your business's security procedures. The PCI Security Standards Council website allows you to access different versions of the SAQ in order to meet various situations.

The PCI Security Standards Council also provides training classes. It's a training class that lasts two days and helps merchants and businesses learn about what the SAQ is and also helps them prepare for onsite assessments. Additionally, the class trains merchants on how to complete PCI compliance and how to sustain PCI compliance after their on site assessment has been completed.
