Classically Trained Chef Offers Culinary Tours of Prince Edward Island, Canada

This lens is all about the culinary delights of Canada's smallest province, Prince Edward Island.  Victoria-by-the-Sea is a tiny village on the south shore of PEI and in the centre of the village is the Victoria Village Inn.  Chef Stephen Hunter lives here and runs the Inn as well as a two diamond gourmet restaurant.  Chef Stephen gathers most of his ingredients from local growers, including a short walk down to the wharf where the fisherman sell fresh lobsters from their boats.  It is a "foodie's" dream come true... Read on to find out why.

Culinary Delights of PEI in the New York Times

Bivalves?

Worth the read of the New York Times article just to learn what bivalves are.

Contact Chef Stephen Hunter about visiting his restaurant and Inn, where he uses fresh seafood and local produce to create culinary delights, day in and day out.
NY Times Article on PEI
An exceptionally descriptive article by the New York Times' restaurant critic, Frank Brundi.

Famous for Lobsters, Oysters and Blue Mussels

Not to mention the potatoes...

You must be getting hungry by now, reading all about the culinary delights of Prince Edward Island. You will love the seafood that comes from the cold oceans and waters that surround PEI.

Until you get here,I welcome you to peruse my lens to read about Prince Edward Island and the cuisine taken for granted by locals (fresh lobsters for $6 a pound off the wharf).

If you have a chance to read the New York Times article by Mr. Frank Brundi, restaurant critic, you'll notice he didn't have much to say about having a lobster at a supposed "high end" restaurant on the Island. Somebody correctly pointed out that lobster is best eaten in the comforts of a backyard, picnic table or in your own kitchen with a bib and nut-crackers to break 'em open.

We were bidding Saturday evening in Crapaud on two meals at Victoria Village Inn and two tickets to theatre but Scott Dawson won out. Stephen's gift certificate netted good dollars for District 17 of the Island's PC Party. We were the lucky winners of the Surf and Turf.
