POWER TO THE PIXELS!

It is a whole new world out there if you follow politics. It was bad enough feeding the beast of 24-hour cable news. Now we have thousands upon thousands of bloggers, debates from YouTube, and blog networks holding national conferences where the candidates appear. Howard Dean became a threat through the blogosphere. Dan Rather got exposed through the blogosphere. And now the world knows about John Edwards' vanity. How the candidates handle this new, user-generated world might just make or break the election.

SITES TO CHECK OFTEN

Pixelection
Everyone's heard of The Million Dollar Homepage - the very first pixel ad site that made a very smart UK student $1M to pay for his university tuition and more. We love this guy because it is truly a great idea.

Our idea is to take the basic premise (pixel ads) and wrap them around a more specific idea (political ads). Even more, how can we give advertisers more bang for their advertising and/or donation buck? So we decided we would donate a portion of every ad to a cause/campaign/etc.
WONKOSPHERE
Unbiased and comprehensive, the Wonkosphere monitors and analyzes the online buzz of the 2008 Presidential race. Its a great place to keep a finger on the pulse of the 2008 Presidential election. It uses patented technology to scour the blogosphere and analyze what is being said, who is saying it, and whether they're ranting or raving.
PAJAMAS MEDIA
A blog network of various conservative pundits.
DAILY KOS
The preeminent liberal blog network. Their annual conference attracts all the major Democratic candidates, quite a comment on its power.
DRUDGE REPORT
Sometimes hard to tell what headlines are real or not, but there are two things for sure. One, they are generally funny. Two, there are a lot of them, so its a decent place to find out what's going on.
HITWISE 2008 ELECTION DATA CENTER
Nothing fancy about this site, an aggregation of traffic data. But a good place to see which sites have the most action.

I'm hoping Ron Paul will become the next president or at least that Hillary, Giuliani, McCain, and some others that do not seem to stand for freedom will not be the next president.
