Under the Life Events Legal Plan, Pre Paid Legal members gain access to attorneys for consultation and advice on legal matters allowing them to be educated and make the right decisions based on their available options and rights.

- 46.5 hours of trial appearence if the IRS sues you, or you pay a disputed tax bill
then choose to sue the IRS.

The hours available for trial defense increase with each year of membership and the scale works out like this:

- Year Three: 205 Hours
- Year Four: 270 Hours
- Year Five: 335 Hours

The fifth year is the maxumum benefit available through the life of a membership, and the cost remains only $26 a month.

Finally the Life Events Legal Plan offers a 25% member discount on all services not covered under plan benefits. This discount will be applied to the prevailing rates the law firm normally charges for a given situation. Members work closely with the attorneys to understand in advance what their hourly rates will be to avoid any surprises.
