PSP for Beginners

Oh yes, I'm one of those dads that decided he was going to purchase a high tech hand held gadget, as a birthday gift. After all, this particular device serves a purpose, right?

First, let's point out the obvious attributes of the Portable PSP. It's a portable hand held device offering great flexibility. It not only plays games but also plays music, videos, displays photos and allows you to surf the web. It's awesome as expected!

Right out of the box, preparing the unit, charging, name and button functions, playing games and movies, no problem. What I did not know was the fact that the PSP does not play all formats of discs, it plays UMD media only and their not cheap. Initially, I thought Ugh; you learn something new every day.

After a few weeks I started hearing daaaaaad "I'm bored with these games" and I've watched each movie three times already. Did I mention that a 9yr old expects continuous gratification no matter what. Then came the expected, dad "can we download some music" Say what? Isn't it too early to be doing that!
