The Playstation Vita is Sony's next big gaming gadget that is due to hit the market by early 2012. The handheld machine will consist of a plethora of innovative and advanced gaming features, making it the most advanced handheld gaming system available. It's features span beyond just that of graphics, as the Playstation Vita will include many anticipated never before seen features. Some of the announced features of the Playstation Vita include:

The Playstation Vita is highly anticipated; however, it does not seem to be receiving quite the same amount of hype as other advanced handheld gaming systems before it. Maybe North America is beginning to outgrow handheld gaming systems with seemingly every handheld device from smartphones to iPods providing gorgeous gaming capabilities? The easy accessibility to portable gaming may reduce the public's willingness to shell out $250 -$300 for 3G capabilities- for the new system. No other handheld gaming device will likely come close to the performance and graphics of the Playstation Vita, yet its steep price is certainly something to be considered.

When the PSP Go made its debut a few years ago, it was anticipated by Sony to be a fantastic upgrade from the bulky, classic PSP. Just recently released the 15 of October 2008, the new update for PSP is as always bringing the new security patches, revised settings, and other features. One of the big features on this new update is the ability to access the Playstation Store with your PSP using Wi-Fi connection to internet. Yes, it is the same look and feel as the site shown on the PS3.

Features of the Playstation Store site are being able to view psp downloads, view new game releases, UMD legacy games, which is used to see all the available games for sale, browse through the many titles, find more about the game title and add to cart if you wish to purchase, there are also demos, media and much more. The one thing that is on my mind when this update came out was why did Sony decide to jump from 4.05 to 5.00? when 2.XX and 3.XX were constantly updated and numbers were not so far apart. Perhaps its got something to do with the New PSP model coming by the end of October 2008.

It is now Official the PSP 3000 will come soon and hit like a hurricane. Leaving the stores wiped out of this new improved handheld. Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. (SCEI) has finally announced the new improved PSP 3000.

Great new features include: Built-in Microphone, and Picture Perfect LCD Screen. It is now time to start saving those dollars for the PSP 3000. Schedule to be a worldwide release on the 14th of October, 2008.

Homebrew is not for everybody. It is important for us and video game developers to continue keep making PSP games. Without support from UMD buyers these companies will seize to exist, because of the lack of sales. I buy at least 5 UMD PSP games a year to show that I greatly appreciate their business.

"Sony PSP 1-Seg digital TV Turner" is an accessory for the PSP to watch your local TV channels. I have heard that it is its early stages, but it is out for those who want to buy it. The only problem is that if you want to get your hands on this great invention by Sony, you need to head over to Japan, because it is only available in Japan and not anywhere else.



We can only hope that this will come to North America too. It would be nice to watch TV and access even local channels anywhere you go with your PSP. As an alternative for us living in the United States, we have "Location Free Player". Not too many PSP people want to spend more money on this hardware/software though. UMD games, do not count as Accessories so I left them out in the list. The PSP battery usually comes together when buying the PSP and it is an Accessory I also left out on the list. The following list is what I consider very important to have for your PSP, and no PSP owner should be without.

1. PSP Battery Charger- It is not good if you can only use the PSP till your battery runs out which would probably be around 2 hours. This is very essential to the PSP system. Get It Here!

2. PSP Memory Stick- Be 1 GB, 2 GB, 4 GB or 8 GB, you can never have enough memory to store games, saves, videos, pics, and other stuff. This is a very essential accessory to the PSP too. Get It Here!

3. PSP Ear Phones- no sound for everyone, just for you. Get It Here!

4. PSP To PC Data Transfer Cable- need to transfer your mp3 files from your computer to your PSP; this is the way, but not limited to mp3 files. All kinds of files can be transferred to the PSP with this cable. I think videos (mp4) and pictures (jpegs and other formats), are the most common. Get It Here!

I think Installing Homebrew on your PSP (also known as hacking the PSP) is the greatest thing in portable gaming system today. It is great to play all the game titles from NES, SNES, SEGA Genesis, Master System, Turbo Grapx 16 and many more.
