Fear Panic Attacks, Heart Attack or Hypoglycemic Attack, which could it be.
I'm making this page about panic attacks or hypoglycemic attacks because I suffered from both for many years. I want to inform others of my experience and how I overcame panic attacks / panic disorder as well as control my hypoglycemia. I am informing others to help them so they won't have to go through the same vicious cycle as I've experienced for years.

Fear Panic Attacks? It May Really Be A Hypoglycemic Attack
There's a condition that has very similar symptoms as an anxiety / panic attack. That condition is Hypoglycemia. I was diagnosed with anxiety/panic attacks that eventually led to panic disorder many years ago. I used to think I was having a heart attack, but after various tests that were to rule out any physical ailment, my doctor back then put me on anti-anxiety medication, which I was on for years. Later, I changed doctors and my new doctor, after hearing my very long story of how and when my attacks started, asked if I had a Glucose Tolerence Test performed. Well, I had no idea what he was talking about, until he explained what it was and how it was performed. You see, way back when I had my first panic attack, a lot of tests were performed and they all came back negative. But, not once did they perform the type of test he mentioned. Basically, this is an all day test, where they give you some type of sugar water, wait for so long then check your blood. They do it on a timed schedule. Well, when I was given the test after about an hour, I started having a panic attack I told the doctor I had to have my anti-anxiety medication because I was having an attack. He told me to wait and he checked my blood and saw that it was VERY low. He asked if this is the way I feel when I'm having a panic attack and I told him, this is it and it's in full-blown mode now. I told him, he needed to call the hospital because I was having a heart attack or stroke. He went and had me drink some of the sugar water, and told me to calm down. Within about five minutes, the attack went away. He checked my blood and it was normal. Well, needless to say, the same thing happened a few more times, just like clockwork. He said, he's willing to bet that if they'd have taken this test years ago, that they probably would've found I was having a hypoglycemic attack. My advice to anyone that is having anxiety/panic attacks, is to demand that their doctor perform a Glucose Tolerence Test to rule out Hypoglycemia. You and he may just be surprised to find that your attacks are really hypoglycemic attacks.
Treatment For Hypoglycemia
The solution for me, is just to eat small meals every two hours and I have to eat healthy foods that take a long time to digest. Foods that are higher in fiber like apples, peanut butter, etc. Of course, you can choose slow digesting foods that you prefer that are healthy.Fear Panic Attacks Information
Fear Panic Attacks? - Does Your Doctor Have A Hidden Agenda For Putting You On Medication?
I was informed by a doctor that many doctors diagnose anxiety / panic attacks more often now-a-days then back in the 70's and 80's. This appears to be first due to the stressful society we now live in. Second, because the money is in the medication, not the cure. Third, it costs more to have the Glucose Tolerence Test performed (and there maybe resistence from the insurance company to pay for this type of a test). So, some doctors are quick to put their patients on anti-anxiety medication. This offers a quick fix, they can keep the patient coming in to get their medication and the patient thinks they're being helped. Of course, either this is not the correct diagnosis, without the above mentioned test or if it truly is anxiety/panic attacks (or even panic disorder), medication will not cure the issue. It will only provide a short-term solution that the patient would have to continue to take indefinitely.. How To Overcome Panic Attacks If It's Not Due To Hypoglycemia
I'd worried myself for so many years to where I then suffered from panic disorder. To make a long story short (maybe I'll tell that story in another lense or module), I came across a program that totally changed my life. Because, you see, I'd gotten to the point to where I was afraid of going to certain places, doing certain things, etc., even afraid to go too far away from home for fear that I may have a heart attack or stroke. When we were looking for our next home, although my husband didn't realize this, but I tried to also ensure that we were close to a hospital. Yea, I know, I was out there. But, I kid you not, I wouldn't have ever thought that program would have helped me, I thought I was too far gone. But I have to say I no longer have panic disorder, I'm not fearful of driving, going places, etc. I am confident and comfortable wherever I go.if you fear panic attacks or are you're interested in finding out how to overcome panic attacks, review this site:

- I am a Hypnotherapist, and you are SO right about the blood sugar! It is the first thing I look for when clients have fears and phobias. You probably did some systematic desensitization, I'm guessing? I just wrote an article on the Fear of Heights which addresses the things you are talking about here.

- LouAllensEbook and WendyKrick thank you so very much for stopping by and providing feedback. I have sooo many stories of my experiences over the years with panic disorder, that I think I can easily write a book. My family helped me greatly through the difficult time. Although, I probably drove them nuts (honestly, I'm surprised, THEY didn't end up with panic attacks).
Again, thank you both.
