The Paradigm Shift: How to Make a Quantum Leap

However, experience tells us most people do keep doing the same old thing, most, unfortunately don't accomplish their goals and many go through their lives in quiet desperation.

Let me give you an insight as to a few PARADIGM SHIFTS that I have achieved, quantum leaps in my life that made TREMENDOUS DIFFERENCE and what I did made to make them happen. Try to glean principles that you will be able to use to MASSIVELY ENHANCE your own income.

Those of you who know my well-documented life story know I left school at the age of 14 and signed up as an apprentice Joiner. I diligently served my time and more or less the day I finished my apprenticeship and was a fully trained joiner complete with 'sitting gills' (City and Guilds) I took advice from three people in the trade and asked where the money was to be made. I quickly upped roots and started work on a building site as a carpenter. The change of environment was enormous. Once day I was in a nice warm workshop, with my white apron, crafting mahogany shop fronts, teak doors and birds eye maple coffee tables.

The next day I was up to me neck in concrete, dirty buildings that had no doors or windows in jeans and an old woolly jumper to keep warm.

Yes! it was uncomfortable, yes! I was out of my comfort zone and yes! it was all new to m,e but in a couple of days, I was back on track as though I belonged.

THIS WAS A PARADIGM SHIFT and my wages went from £20 a week (that's what the average tradesman earned) as a fully trained craftsman to £100 as a jobbing carpenter on piecework. Let me tell you a £100 pound a week in the 60's was real money and soon, as a young man, I whacked down £990 cash to buy a brand new 1600 cc Volkswagen Beetle.

I was earning serious money and I had the BURNING DESIRE TO DO MORE!

I asked three people what I should do next. I had in mind to open up my own motorcycle shop because that's where my PASSION was. One old carpenter was absolutely opposed to the idea. He even told me. 'Boy, you're a time served joiner with 'sitting gills'...you can't just jump trade and open up a motorcycle shop.

I went against his advice and opened my first motorcycle shop in Chessington Road in Surrey. Yes it was uncomfortable; I didn't have a road map. I was now a retailer not a carpenter and YES! it was all new to me, but soon I was back on track...as though I belonged.

This was in the boom era of motorcycles and we made out like bandits. Soon I had seven shops.

To cut a long story short, I nearly went bust and ended up writing a book about my experiences....that book still sells today until the new title of DEBT FREE WITH FINANCIAL KUNG FU.

I felt another paradigm shift coming on and after taking advice from three people I upped roots and bought a £100 FREDDIE LAKER one-way ticket to the USA and became a full-time financial writer.

Again, no road map, never been to America before, out of my comfort zone...but I created my own success and as they say the rest is history. The truth is I have created a number of PARADIGM SHIFTS since then but what have you learned so far?

I hope you spotted that I take advice from a number of people. Sometimes I take the advice and sometime I go against it. I listened to my inner voice. I know that if I were to keep to doing the same thing for the next five years I'd be in the same position. Who knows I might even go BACKWARDS and for me that's not an option. I often went from a warm comfortable environments into a totally new challenges.... many times having to go through massive leaning curves. I got out of my comfort zone and often travelled without a road map. However, every time I created my OWN PARADIGM SHIFT there was a massive increase in EARNINGS!
