Pashu and Shanti

Ranked #18,335 in Pets & Animals, #526,794 overall

I believe the world's first therapists PURRED.

For all you cat lovers out there - you know who you are (!) - you are very familiar with the soothing sound of a cat's purr.  There's nothing more comforting than a warm bundle of furry kitten to brighten up a cold evening.  Even better is the cat that can make you laugh too.  We welcomed Pashu into lives and found life became quite a lot funnier.  I hope our kitty chronicles will bring a smile to your face too.

Pashu and Shanti BLOG

Pashu and Shanti have decided they want to be heard. They now have a blog where they can speak their minds.

We don't like dogs

Many cats dislike dogs. Pashu and Shanti quite agree with that most feline sentiment: Waggo, our neighbor's dog, came in for a visit. As soon as they realized he was here, they escaped "to the high ground." They continued to illustrate how very unimpressed they were with a D-O-G entering THEIR domicile by staying up on top of my printer for many hours after he had left and shedding profusely in the paper tray. My documents were fuzzy for days.

Cat Drugs

For some reason I'm not entirely clear on, Pashu will spend up to 10 minutes at a time sitting with his head underneath something. I don't know if he thinks he's hiding or if he's watching something. Considering that he'll sit for very long periods of time staring intently at an invisible speck on the floor, I suspect it's the latter. He also spent a good 20 minutes chasing his tail between 5:00 and 5:30 a.m. this morning.

My husband thinks it's because cats have natural drugs going on and Pashu ended up with an excess amount of those. Right now, as I type this, he's racing back and forth between the kitchen and the living room, pouncing on one spot on the floor, giving it a good kick or two and then racing on to the next spot and boxing it around it's imaginary ears. Many times when Pashu's kitty drugs are racing, he gets Shanti all fired up too. She just joined him in operation speck attack. I'm beginning to fear for the floor.

Who needs cable TV? We've got CATS.

The killer slipper

Death Ascends from Below

Sometimes, on cold mornings, Pashu will curl around my feet while I'm working and keep them warm for me. Occasionally though, he loses it a bit and decides to "take down the feet."

These are the deadly slipper mornings: Death to the feet - when it is not safe for mere mortals to tread on cat-commanded floors.

Perhaps on mornings like these I should just stay in bed.

What's even weirder though, is that Pashu purrs the entire time he's attacking my feet. He is the slayer and proud of it.

Toilet-papering Kitties - party animals at night.

What do YOUR cats do while you're sleeping?

Last night, my cats decided to have a party and toilet-paper the house. My husband apparently gave them tuna fish juice (that watery left-over stuff you pour off the tuna fish when you open a can) last night and it must have gone straight to their heads, because they were a bit loopy. I woke up this morning to find toilet paper strewn through the living room and the kitchen and two slightly hung-over looking cats each denying it was them. Who would have thought you'd need to keep your toilet paper guarded from your cats?

When asked why they did it , they pleaded the fifth.

Shanti and Pashu after a long night of partying.
