Wonderful tonight by Patty Boyd
This book was spectacular! Patty Boyd did a great job writing about her exciting life being married to George Harrison of the Beatles then Eric clapton. Reading this we can live vicariously through her. It was also a study of the local color of the 60's & 70's. As a child of the 80's, I find the 60's/70's fascinating.
The first part of her book describes her childhood & how difficult it was, and how it shaped her. She went into modeling in England & became a famous big-time model in the 60's. That's how she met George Harrison by being cast in "A Hard Day's Night". They fell n love & were married & she describes about her life as a Beatle wife, their experimentation with drugs & their exploration & worship of Hinduism.
This book, in my opinion, makes George Harrison look like an ok & upstanding guy. One with insecurities & depression and foibles, but also good deep down.
The next part describes her life married to Eric Clapton. I was always curious at how he woo'd her away from George Harrison & how that all worked out. This part is actually kind of sad & though Eric is supremely talented, he's also seriously wounded & a serious alcoholic & drug addict. She did merely more than drink/drug with him during this time if not taking care of him while he was falling down or cheating on her. Very sad.
