"Manhattan Memories" New York Watercolor, Paul Jackson

What a view: the borough of Manhattan, the mouth of the Hudson, the West Side highway and piers, and in the distance, the World Trade Center towers. This Paul Jackson watercolor was completed in 2006, a bird's-eye view, or more correctly a helicopter-eye view, honoring pre-9/11 New York City.

"Off The Wall" Watercolor, Paul Jackson

Fine architectural detail and the fluid lines of distorted reflections embrace in this vibrant Paul Jackson watercolor. The view and perspective is obtained by walking out the south doors of Grand Central Station in New York City and looking up. "Liberty 2K" Watercolor, Paul Jackson

If we could have, this is the spot we would all have liked to have been at the turn of the millennium: 12 o'clock, January 1st, 2000 on Liberty Island in New York Harbor. This Paul Jackson watercolor looks up at the fireworks and the face of Liberty. Note Lady Liberty is holding the original Art Deco torch, giving a nostalgic glimpse at an age where beauty was the first consideration. The painting is one of a series of works by the artist featuring churches, monuments and museums across Europe and the United States.

"New York Nightlights" Watercolor, Paul Jackson

Between 50th and 51st streets sits one of New York City's most famous buildings, St. Patrick's Cathedral. This nighttime watercolor view by Paul Jackson looks down on the Madison Avenue side of the church in midtown Manhattan. Completed in 2005, this 22" X 36" painting is one of a series of architectural works by the artist of churches, monuments and museums across Europe and the United States. Winner of the American Watercolor Society Dong Kingman Award 2006

Wow, impressive work! I paint in oil, mainly because I don't have the patience for watercolor. You've managed to get some really vibrant colors with your watercolors, I was never able to. Squid Angel blessed!
