"Paying Student Loans or Bust!"

Finally, I am finished with college and faced with the reality of paying student loans. I spent the last 10 years in college and had to take out student loans.

I am from a working class family so I didn't have any help from my parents. I was always told to attend college and I will be able to find a good job. But, I found out it wasn't as simple as just getting a degree and obtaining a professional, well paying career. I realized that having a college degree wasn't enough to obtain a professional level job in our society.

It seems that most employers are looking for people that have experience in the field and a degree is not considered experience. I thought that a degree would count for experience but that's not always the case. I know a lot of college graduates are being passed over for more experience employees. I think the advantage of having a college degree will help you to get into entry level positions at some companies.

Also, I think it's important to network with people in your career of choice. I am a big advocate for education so I don't regret spending money to attend college.

How does paying student loans affect you?

The debt of student loans has a major affect on your lifestyle. It will affect the type of house, car, and any other luxuries that you want to purchase.

Recently, I purchased a house and I felt that my student loans affected the type of house that I could afford. I think the purchase of the house made me realized how much I needed to get my student loans paid.

It was like a slap of reality to realize how much of my income goes towards student loans. I don't want to be dealing with student loan debt for the next 30 years.
