My Experience with Tooth Soap
I've been using Perfect Prescription Tooth Soap for about three years now. From the very first time I used it, I noticed a huge difference in the results I got after brushing. First, my teeth and mouth felt so much better. I could rub my tongue along my teeth and they felt smoother and cleaner than ever before. When I awoke the next morning, my mouth still felt clean. And better yet, no morning breath! Who knew that my nasty morning mouth was caused by the residue left by my previous brand of tooth paste. I have become a big believer in using tooth soap, and I'll never go back to using traditional tooth paste again. Soap as Tooth Paste?
For one thing, tooth paste contains undesirable and potentially harmful chemicals. Pure tooth soap contains only natural ingredients. This second point may surprise you, but teeth have the ability to remineralize (rebuild enamel). So basically, your teeth can heal cavities on their own. However, they must be clean in order for this to happen, and regular toothpaste leaves a residue on your teeth that makes remineralization difficult. On the other hand, tooth soap rinses completely away so no residue is left behind. This is why tooth soap is so much healthier for your teeth!
Liquid Tooth Soap or "Shreds"
Perfect Prescription Tooth Soap comes in two different varieties - liquid tooth soap and shreds. The shreds are thin, short strips of pure soap. Just place one or two "shreds" directly onto the bristles of your tooth brush before brushing. Liquid tooth soap is just what it says and comes in a pump that is sprayed on the tooth brush. Both products work very well. I have used both, and I haven't noticed any difference in the results. Both varieties come in various appealing flavors such as peppermint, cinnamon, spearmint and more. The Liquid tooth soap even comes in a grape flavor which is great if you have kids. If the idea of brushing your teeth with even flavored soap bothers you, I'd suggest starting with the liquid tooth soap first. The shreds have a hint of a "soapy" flavor that I'm unable to taste in the liquid version.
The only downside of the liquid tooth soap is that it doesn't seem to last as long. It starts to get a little cloudy at the bottom of the bottle after a couple of months, although I've heard that it will last longer if you keep it in the fridge. Personally I just use the shreds now as I'm quite used to the taste.
