Quick History
Based on the book by J.M. Barrie, Peter Pan and the Pirates was an animated cartoon designed and aired by Fox from September 1990 to December 1991.
Unlike other versions, this cartoon focused as much on the pirates (besides Captain Hook) as it did on Peter Pan. All the named pirates had actual personalities, ones that were thought out and in character. They weren't just filler, they even had episodes devoted to them in some cases.
This series was much closer to the book than the Disney version, and was also targeted towards a slightly older audience. Allowing the creators to have the occasional darker storyline.
There were 65 episodes all told and quick synopsis of some of them are listed below as well as the cast, and the few, VERY few, episodes you can still buy. I highly recommend this series to everyone who loves Peter Pan, I guarentee you won't forget it!
I know this lens is a bit long, there's 3 different sections to the episode list to help break things up, and I now have a few images of the characters. Please feel free to leave suggestions of what you would like to see added in the guestbook.

Episode List and Synopsis
There are ice caves in Neverland, ruled by a mean king named Kyros. He has forbidden Peter to enter his realm, which of course means Peter is determined to go there. He steals a beautiful crystal from the ice caves, and brings it back to the underground house as a present for Tinker Bell. When Wendy admires it, he gives it to her instead. This makes Tinker Bell mad. When Peter is telling the story of how he stole the crystal to the Lost Boys, he accidently slips up and says Kyros's name. This immediately brings Kyros to the house, and after taking his crystal back, sternly tells Peter to never visit his caves again. Naturally, Peter decides to go right back to the caves to get a new crystal. John and Michael go with him. Managing to overcome all the obstacles Kyros puts in their way, they steal an even larger crystal and bring it home to give to Wendy. Unfortunately, this crystal is extremly powerful, and as soon as Wendy touches it, everything in the house turns to ice. Including the people! Tinker Bell manages to thaw herself and Peter out, but is too tired to help the others. Peter goes to a nearby volcano and brings back fire, which thaws everyone out, but ruins the furniture in the house. In retaliation, the Lost Boys try to melt the ice caves, and fail. Kyros creates a doppelganger of Peter who blows the children away, and begins freezing all of Neverland, including the Pirates! Wendy brings Peter the crystal and convinces him to return it. He does so, as he is tired of the game by now, and Neverland returns to normal.

The Great Race:
The Twins are tired of being associated with each other so much, and start fighting constantly. This happens at the time a race around the island is to take place. Trying to beat each other in making the fastest racing machine, the Twins end up building the exact same machine. When the Race finally arrives, it is nearly ruined by the competition between Peter, the Lost Boys, and the Pirates. In the end, the Twins work together to save their friends. And Michael wins the race...riding only a tricycle!
Living In Pictures:
Peter complains that Wendy's stories aren't exciting enough. So Tinker Bell enchants the storybook so the stories come alive as they're told. Everyone who is in the story must obey the narration, this includes Peter who is the hero. Word of this soon reaches Hook and he decides to steal the book. Then he rewrites it so Peter can't fly or fight, the Lost Boys and Wendy and her brothers are helpless captives. Things take a turn for the better when Wendy is able to write the crocodile into the story.

Episode List and Synopsis 2
Wendy has written Alice in Wonderland into her storybook, but when Peter insists he will not hear a story he is not in, she adds his name to the title. Unfortunately, Tinker Bell's magic has again enchanted the book, and when Wendy opens it, she and Peter are transported into the story. Apparently, when John drew the pictures, he used the likeness of Wendy, Peter, the Lost Boys, and the Pirates as the basis of all the characters in the story. Also unfortunately, Peter's name was only written into the title, not the story itself. So Wendy as the heroine, must see them safely through the adventure.
Vanity, Thy Name is Mermaid:
Peter and two mermaids are playing with an enchanted bubble ball in the lagoon, while Wendy teaches one of the Lost Boys about Morse Code. Soon the mermaids are arguing about who is the most beautiful being in Neverland. They ask Peter to settle the argument, and he picks Wendy because she tells beautiful stories. Wendy is flattered, but brushes it off as she believes the mermaids to be more beautiful. The damage has already been done however, as the mermaids grow so jealous that when Peter leaves, they trap Wendy in a bubble and drag her to the bottom of the lagoon. They then give her a potion giving her a mermaid tail, saying that if she is so beautiful, she must live among them. Wendy is enchanted with the tail. Until she realizes she cannot breath underwater, the bubble begins to shrink, and she starts to slowly suffocate. Meanwhile, Peter and the Lost Boys return to the lagoon to look for Wendy. A friendlier mermaid gives Peter a breathing bubble and tells him where Wendy can be found. On his way, he meets an old and ugly mermaid named Crooked Tail. In her youth, she made a potion to enhance her looks. It backfired and made her ugly instead, so she lives as an outcast. She agrees to help Peter when she finds out which two mermaids kidnapped Wendy. Wendy tricks the mean mermaids into thinking the mirror she left on the beach is magic. That Peter had given it to her and it was what made her so beautiful, all you had to do was look into it. They leave quickly to find the mirror, just before Peter and Crooked Tail arrive. Crooked Tail reverses the potion and brings Peter and Wendy back to the surface before the last of the air is gone. The mermaids are so surprised, they drop the mirror. Peter gives it to Crooked Tail, and Wendy says she is now the most beautiful being in Neverland. Crooked Tail tells the others that she is ending her seclusion and returning home. Much to their dismay.
Pirate Shadows:
Billy Jukes, Lost Boy:
Mullins catches the deadly Neverfever and wanders into the forest during a lightning storm. Billy Jukes is the only pirate who will go after him. Slightly captures Billy, and tries to capture Mullins in order to prove he should be second-in-command of the Lost Boys. When he finds out Mullins is dying, he offers to help Billy get the antidote to Neverfever. Along the way, they bond as each describes their families and experiences in Neverland. They save Mullins and return to their groups, but do not forget the friendship created along the way.
Curly's Laugh:
Curly loves to make his friends laugh. When Tink grants his wish to be the funniest boy in Neverland, EVERYthing that comes out of his mouth is cause for laughter. Meanwhile, Hook has written a comedy and is in search of anyone who has comedic talent. The pirates all fail his requirements, so he decides to test the Lost Boys. With or without their consent. Can Curly warn the others in time, and get taken seriously?

She is less happy when Peter insists Wendy and the Lost Boys come along. Tink messes with their ability to fly, which leads to a huge disaster and Oberon kicks Wendy and the Lost Boys out. Unable to return to their normal size, they become easy prey to Hook and the crocodile. Especially with Tink keeping Peter distracted.

But the half wishes are granted first and don't turn out right. When the adventure takes a fatal twist for Hook, Peter uses his full wish to wish that none of it had ever happened.
All Hallows Eve:
It's All Hallows Eve, and Peter and the Lost Boys are playing pranks on the pirates. One prank pulled, is to steal the Pirates lantern.
