The Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Series for Nintendo DS

The story in this first game starts out with Phoenix Wright as a rookie attorney on his first case, defending an old friend against a murder charge. You have to think your way through the evidence and the testimony, looking for discrepancies, pressing witnesses on cross examination, and presenting the evidence that reveals the lies. There are five cases to solve in this first Phoenix Wright game.

The main characters are: Phoenix Wright, his boss Mia Fey, her sister Maya Fey, his friend Larry Butz, Detective Dick Gumshoe, the Judge, and the prosecutor Miles Edgeworth (who is not only a courtroom adversary but also a childhood friend of Phoenix).

In Justice for All, Phoenix Wright defends his clients through four cases, about a year after the time of the first game. Again, you think your way through the evidence and the testimony, look for discrepancies, press witnesses on cross examination, and present evidence. There is a new feature called Psyche-Lock, used during the investigation phase, where Phoenix breaks through the witnesses' defenses to get to the truth or the opportunity to ask that witness more questions.

The primary characters are the same as the first game, with a couple of new additions: a cousin of Mia and Maya named Pearl and another prosecutor, Franziska von Karma.

In Trials and Tribulations, you play through five cases. At different times you will control Phoenix Wright, Mia Fey, and Miles Edgeworth. The story crosses back and forth in time, delving into Phoenix's past and expanding on Mia's family's storyline. The basic gameplay is the same as the previous game as you sift through evidence and the testimony, looking for discrepancies, pressing witnesses on cross examination, and presenting evidence.

This is the last of the Phoenix Wright games to star him, though he appears in the next.
