But if you know someone that likes nature scenes, or lighthouses, birds, dogs, cats (or any other animal you can think of), classic cars, wood working, or whatever, you can compile a group of photos and make them into a totally original creation that will last them the whole year through!

Snapfish.com coupons as well as Shutterfly.com coupons are really easy to find and can save you a ton of money on your purchase. Uploading Your Photos; The First Step in Creating a Photo Calendar

Before you do anything with your pictures you've got to upload them to the photo website, and here's how to do it!

Actually, the first step to doing anything at either Snapfish.com or Shutterfly.com is to create an account.

Then, once your account is created you can upload your photos. A lot of people seem to feel that this is a difficult process, and they get a bit nervous. Don't...It's really easy! Just follow the few simple steps listed below and your pictures will be uploaded in no time.

How to Upload Your Photos

Just follow this list of step by step instructions for both Snapfish.com and Shutterfly.com and uploading the photos you've chosen for your calendar will be really easy!

  • UPLOADING PICTURES TO SNAPFISH.COM

    1. Click on the "Upload Photos" button

    2. Title, Date and briefly Describe your album (this is where your uploaded photos will go to be saved until you delete them)

    3. Click the "upload to this album" button

    4. Now you'll see a screen with 12 lines on it, all with a gray "Browse" button on the right side. Click the "Browse" button to find the photo you want on your computer. Once you find the picture you want that's saved on your computer, Double Click it and you'll see a link appear in the box to the left of the "Browse" button. Do this in as many of the 12 lines as you have pictures to fill, and then, whenever you're done, click the "upload photos" button in the bottom right corner.

    5. To show you things are uploading, a small window will appear that says "Upload in Progress".

    6. Once the upload is complete, you'll be given the option to upload more photos by clicking the blue "Upload Now" link under your album, or, you can click the yellow "view entire album" button.

    7. Clicking the "view entire album" button will take you to a screen that shows you all the pictures uploaded to your album. You'll also see a link for "Calendars" on the right hand side of the screen. Click it and begin creating your photo Calendar! It's that easy!

  • UPLOADING PICTURES TO SHUTTERFLY.COM

    1. Click the "Add Pictures" shortcut at the top of your screen.

    2. A new window will open that says "Upload Pictures"

    4. Then, date and/or name the album you want the photos to go into (Shutterfly.com has this step labeled "Choose where you want to upload to").

    5. Once you've completed these last 2 steps, click the orange "Start" button at the bottom.

    6. To show you it's busy working you'll see a message at the top of the window telling you the site is "uploading to______(your album title)" along with a status bar.

    7. After the upload is complete, you'll be given the choice to "upload more" or "view pictures".

    8. When you select "view pictures" the extra window will disappear and you'll be taken back to the Shutterfly.com site page titled "Manage My Pictures".

Now, Here's How to Create Your Photo Calendar!

Your photos are uploaded and ready to go, all you need to do is follow this step by step process and you'll create a fabulous photo calendar in no time!

Although each site is a bit different as far as creating a photo calendar, I didn't feel like they were different enough to warrant separate instructions for each site as I did above - Plus, the process is really easy and both sites provide you with a lot of instructions along the way.

So have fun, and be creative!!!

Step 1

Head to the "Calendar" screen

After you've got your account together and your pictures uploaded, you're ready to begin creating your photo calendar! If you haven't gotten yourself to the "Calendars" screen on either the Snapfish.com or Shutterfly.com site by following the directions above for uploading your photos, you can start by clicking on the "Store" tab on the "Home Page" and then selecting "Calendars" from the list of products.

Step 2

Selecting the style, format, and more

The next step is to select the style and type of photo calendar you'd like to create. Both sites offer a few different options from one picture each month to a collage format along with different background choices as well. Neither option is more difficult for you in the end, so make sure to select what you like.

At this point you can also select the size of your calendar as well as whether you want it to run for 12 or 18 months.

Step 3

Select your starting month

Once you make your design choices, you'll need to decide which month you'd like the calendar to begin on. But remember, just because you're creating the photo calendar in May for example, doesn't mean it has to start in May. You can select any of the 12 months as your starting month and the site will organize your calendar to follow sequentially from there.

Step 4

Get your pictures from your album

Now, it's time to get your photos. Click the "get pictures" button and select the photos you think you'll want to use for your calendar. I recommend selecting all the ones you're thinking about now, and then, as you create the calendar, you can see which ones look the best in the format you've selected.

To get back to your photo calendar just click the "Done" or "Add to Calendar" button.

Step 5

Now, get creative!

Here's the really fun part - at this point, all that's left to do is play around with layout, background, number of pictures per page and which pictures look good with which backgrounds as well as for which months.

Don't forget, you can also add pictures to specific days during each month. So, maybe add a picture of the person whose birthday it is on each day during the year, or a picture of fireworks on the 4th of July.

You can also add text both on the main picture(s) as well as these smaller "dates" pictures.

Step 6

Make sure to preview your calendar

Once you've gotten the calendar to where you think you're done, preview it. You can do this simply by clicking the "Preview" button at the top of your screen.

Step 7

You're almost done!

If you're satisfied after you preview your photo calendar just click the "Order" button and you're done! You've created a Photo Calendar!!!

Step 8

Don't forget your money saving coupon code before finalizing your order!

Don't forget to look for either a Snapfish.com coupon or a Shutterfly.com coupon online before you finalize your calendar order; they really are very simple to find and use, and you'll save money - so why not!!!
