Rocket Piano Review: A Detailed Review of Rocket Piano
This is a full review outlining all the pros and cons of Ruth Searle's Rocket Piano. If you are reading this review right now chances are that you have probably heard of Rocket Piano and you're wondering if it's a worthwhile investment. In this review, I will give some background information about Rocket Piano and I will talk about what Rocket Piano does well and some of its drawbacks. I will then give it an overall verdict and score it out of 10.

Right, let's start out by outlining all the items that are part of the Rocket Piano package. The main part of the package includes 3 detailed e-books, this is really the meat and potatos of the Rocket Piano package. The books assume that you are a complete beginner to playing piano and start from the basics. What I like about this approach is that there is a natural progression to the books which caters to piano players at all levels. This also helps flatten the learning curve for readers who are completely new to playing the piano.
As you progress through the books the difficulty level gradually increases to intermediate and advanced levels. So if you are already familiar with the basics of playing the piano, this is where you will gain the most value out of Rocket piano. The books are written well and are pretty easy to read. There are also quite a few visual illustrations and pictures that make it easier to understand the material.

In addition to the 3 main books, The Rocket Piano Package also includes audio files, video tutorials and some computer games (Jayde Musica Pro, Chordinator and Perfect your Pitch Pro). This adds some variety into the mix, so that you're not reading the books all the time. The video tutorials and the software were more useful than the audio files. I found Perfect Pitch Pro to be a pretty handy tool for ear training and learning to play by ear. The additional materials really help round out the whole package and make learning to play the piano more interesting.
Rocket Piano does have some drawbacks. If you are already an expert piano player then this is not the program for you. Even though the difficultly level gradually increases, Rocket Piano is not really targeted for expert piano players. Rocket Piano is aimed more at the beginner and intermediate level. The user interface of the Rocket Piano website (where the videos are) is a bit tricky to get the hang off. There is also the occasional advertisement here and there on the website. These minor drawbacks take down the overall score a bit.
Overall, Rocket Piano is a pretty good package for those who want to start playing the piano. There is a lot of content (e-books, audio, video, software) for pretty reasonable price, and for those who are looking to start playing the piano Rocket Piano is a good place to start. Aside from the few minor gripes that I mentioned earlier it is one of the most comprehensive and useful products on the internet for learning how to play the piano.
Overall Review Score: 9.1/10
