When I first look at this photo I see the bold red leaf. But then I am mesmerized by the rings of the tree stump.

Pictures of Fall Leaves on the tree in my mom's backyard. Here in Arizona, there a very few trees that change color. My mom is lucky enough to have one in her backyard. I believe this is an Arizona Ash Tree. The leaves turn bright yellow before they drop from the tree. But this doesn't happen until December. This picture was taken December 6th.

It's unbelievable that so much color is reflected on the water's surface. At first glance, I thought this picture was just of the autumn trees, but it's not, it's off the stream on the ground. The leaves reflect beautifully in the water.

I went to undergraduate and graduate school in Omaha, NE and one of the best places in town to see the colors of fall was Elmwood Park, down the hill from University of Nebraska-Omaha. Here's some autumn photos from Elmwood Park and Memorial Park in Omaha.

In addition to the reds and yellows of the changing leaves, autumn reminds me of harvest time. Growing up in midwest farmland, fall reminds me of football and combines in the fields. These pictures are a tribute to the farmers who put food on our tables.

As a teenager, in the fall I would go running in a wheat field near my grandmother's farm while my dad was out checking on the cattle. This photo reminded me of the vast canvas of harvested fields in autumn.
