Points2Shop

Ranked #1,216 in Business & Work, #56,018 overall

Points2Shop

Points2Shop is a website that allows you to gain points and spend those points on any Amazon product you can find.

Sounds 'Scam-ish' right? I know it does, but read on.

On Amazon.com you can find a very large variety of items sold at sometimes cheaper than retail price.
The way Points2Shop works is you gain points through completeing 'Offers' (usually surveys) or play games against other players in the Points2Shop community.

Sounds even MORE 'Scam-ish' eh? I know, but I soon found out, this site works. I've been a member for only 3 or so days, and already ordered two items I wanted from Amazon.

I'll be sure to post when they get to my residence!
Items are now at my house! Can now assure you, this site WORKS. I'll definately be using Points2Shop for a while.

Prizes I received (just the first three):
1 German Ensign Flag (1945) [5x3]
1 USSR (Russia Old-Style) Flag [5x3]
1 POW & MIA ~ "You are not forgotten" Flag [5x3]

Some odd prizes I received? Well I collect history and using Points2Shop has really helped me get more items to add to my ever-growing collection!

I also have collected ~$10.00 through Paypal from Points2Shop.

The Big Question is... Is this a scam?

The answer is: No.

I know it sounds like a scam ( I thought that too, I mean just look at the name of the website...) but it really isn't. When you register at Points2Shop you have to simply enter in the information they ask for (such as Email), they won't spam you. I'm not going to lie, when I was told about this site, I was skeptical. I really was. I did my own research, and even waited for my friend to receive his items before I finally gave in and signed up. There are sites out there who do claim it's a scam, many of them are made by people who signed up for the website and got banned for cheating on the games, or just breaking the rules in general. It's VERY important that you read the rules. Points2Shop is really picky on their rules, and if you break the major ones, your usually screwed. However, all the people I know on the site are very nice, kindhearted people who are there for the same reason you are - to get points. So if you break a minor rule, the community will usually just nicely ask you to stop and tell you what rule you broke. However, if you use a different computer (different IP) and log on to your account Points2Shop will NOT forgive you. Points2Shop needs to be tough on this rule because many people (before this rule was implemented) would make hundreds of fake accounts and rack up tons of points. Basically exploiting the system for their own benefit. So please! DO NOT log on your account with different IP addresses. That includes cell phones, like the iPhone and such.

They WILL however, ask for your shipping information (Address, Phone (They won't call you), Country, etc.) however you can skip this step if you feel uncomfortable about giving your information.

*IMPORTANT* Be sure to fill our your information correctly, when you decide to fill it out (especially your name, your name CANNOT be changed)

Then once you've filled out your Email, verified it, and either filled out your shipping info or skipped it, you've now received 250 points to start out with (This is $2.50 on Amazon.com) and you're ready to start earning points.

How to Earn Points

Points are what you need to be able to buy items from Amazon through Points2Shop.

There are two main ways of getting points:
1. Play Games
2. Complete Offers

Playing Games:

You can put your points on the line and play against other Points2Shop Members to win points. There are currently 2 Playable games that new people can play, Racing and the Shooting Gallery.

Both games have different "Levels" of skill. You start as a Beginner and work your way up to Expert. Note: only Beginners are matched with other Beginners, Experts with other Experts, etc.

Both games also have different "Rooms" to play in. Each one costs a different amount of points to play in, the first will always be free. Play in the free room until you're confident enough you can beat other players by betting your own points.

Completing Offers:
The second way of gaining points it by completing offers. These can be a bit confusing at first, but soon become a breeze and easy points.

Simply go to "Earn Points" at the top and go to the "Main Offer List". This will bring you to a list of offers you can complete. I advise hitting the "Read more" button before completing any offer. "Read more" will tell you what is required to complete the offer. Many will say "Free" and "Phone Number" as requirements, but others will have more such as "Paid" and "Trial" and "Download". I never do any that require "Paid" and "Download" as these I don't trust. I also HIGHLY recommend you look at the comments for each offer, most comments will tell you what they filled out on the survey and whether they got approved or not.

Once you pick your offer you want to complete click the "Visit offer" button and begin.
****IMPORTANT**** I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU DO NOT USE YOUR REAL PHONE NUMBER Instead use websites like www.brring.com to get a phone number. Other members and staff will tell you to post your real information on these ads.

I'm going to be honest, despite what they say, I wouldn't recommend you use your real information. Some of the surveys/ads will require you to confirm an email, I recommend you use an alternate email, which you don't use for anything else. These ads will usually spam your email (NOTE: Many of these ads have no affiliation with Points2Shop, except that they giveyou points for filling them out. I just skip offers that require you to give a phone number, and confirm it by talking to them. I've never done ads which require you to download things, but members say to turn off your Anti-Virus. I recommend you keep your Anti-Virus on , even if everyone says in the comments it's "okay", it's better to stay on the safe side and just skip the offer all together. Overall, I wouldn't trust the ads themselves, however Points2Shop won't spam you or anything.

Fill out the offer to the best of your ability, and follow what people said in the comments about how to finish the offer. Once you finish the offer, be sure to hit the "Claim offer" button. If you don't, then you WILL NOT receive your points for finishing the offer. This puts the offer on your Claimed list and will be approved in possibly a few minutes or a few days and you'll get your points.

So what Prizes can I receive?

Anything on Amazon!

The great thing about Points2Shop is that the points you earn can be used to get whatever you want on Amazon. Points2Shop has their own list of popular Amazon prizes and recently redeemed prizes, but it won't show all prizes. If you see a prize on Amazon that you want, and you can't find it on Points2Shop then go to Amazon.com, go to the prize, and copy the URL and paste it in the box in the "Find a Prize" option.

You can get anything from your favorite candy, to a brand new gaming console! If you can find it on Amazon.com, and have enough points for it, you can buy it!

What do I do if I'm confused or need help?

Simply ask other members!

Another great thing about Points2Shop is that they have very helpful community. They have a shoutbox on their website that allows you to not only chat, but also request help and ask questions. Unless you spam, or no other users are online (which is very rare) you'll most likely get an answer to your question. It'd also be nice if you gave the person who helped you a "Thumbs-up" (The icon appears next to their message) as a way to show your appreciation.

There is also a forum (which I've only used once to help someone else) where you can ask for advice, or even post your own advice for other users.

If your question is about your account or other personal questions you may want to submit a ticket to customer support and ask them to help you. I have never had to do this yet, so I can't say how helpful they are. Some say they help you quickly, some say they don't help at all, I guess it just all depends on how they feel.

Do's and Don'ts

I guess you could call them 'Tips' :)

Do's:
1. Fill out surveys accurately, some repeat questions to make sure you're not making things up.
2. Try and play games you know you can win, I wouldn't try playing the big 10 player competitions until you've at least won a good number of times.
3. Check for new offers often.
4. Ask questions if you need help! It saves a lot of time and you'll get a friendly response.
5. Help other players as much as possible, it not only makes you look better among the other members, but it also helps you gain ranks which unlock some really good offers.
6. Be active. You'll get merits for being active and completing "Quests", Merits will help you get into a team which could win you big points.
7. Treat others how you'd like to be treated. The rule straight from Pre-School.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Don'ts:
1. Do not turn off your Anti-Virus when doing offers (Points2Shop recommends you turn it off, but I wouldn't)
2. Do not give out any personal information, ask for points, ask for someone to play a game against you, or just in general cause a disturbance in the Chat box. It'll just get deleted anyway by a Moderator.
3. Do not make multiple accounts. This will cause you to get banned, you can try and fight it but it's unlikely you'll win.
4. Do not log on from a friends house or from your cell phone unless you're at your house.
5. When commenting on an offer try to be helpful to other users, try not to spam.
6. Do not accuse another player of doing something against the rules in the Chat box, it's been happening lately and players are close to getting banned for doing it.
7. Do not Spam in general.
