Deciding to get a family pet is a big and important decision. If you and your family have decided on a Pomeranian for your family pet then you are going to need to look into Pomeranian breeders in your area to find the right one for you. Take your time and make sure you do your research because the breeder you choose is not just someone you buy your dog from, it is someone that you will be looking to for advice on how to properly raise your new pet and that is extremely important.
Probably the first place you will want to start researching prospective breeders is on the different national breeder registries that you can easily find on the Internet. The American Kennel Club is probably the best known but there are others out there to look into. A breeder that is listed on a registry adheres to guidelines for good breeding. If a breeder is not listed in a registry then you may want to ask them how they get their breeding guidelines.
Ask your vet their opinion about the Pomeranian breeders you are considering because your vet is going to have your pet's best interest in mind as much as you are. If you do not have a vet yet then the perfect time to settle on one is when you are looking for breeders. Your vet's opinion on your breeder prospects can be important in your final decision. If your vet feels strongly against a particular breeder then it may be wise to avoid that breeder.

If the local law officials have a record on a particular breeder then you may want to avoid that breeder at all costs. It may seem a little excessive but when you are looking for a family pet it is always better to be safe than sorry.
One of the things you are going to have to do when considering multiple Pomeranian breeders is to talk to the breeders themselves and see if you think you can feel comfortable doing business with them. If you do not feel like you can talk to certain breeders then you will probably want to eliminate them as prospects because you will be in contact with your breeder a lot and comfortable communication is essential to this very important relationship.
In the end you will have to take all of your factors into consideration when you are choosing a breeder. Choosing a breeder is probably one of the most important decisions you will make in this entire process so take your time, do your homework, and be completely sure of the breeder you choose because if you make the wrong choice at this part of the process then that could mean regretting it for many years to come.

Why Finding Good Pomeranian Breeders Can Be So Hard
If you are planning to get a new puppy, it is important that you realize that this is a process you should be willing to put time into and which you should take very seriously. Pomeranians are especially popular, and finding legit and respectable Pomeranian breeders is the most important step here. There are hundreds of different breeders out there to choose from but many of these are mass breeders. Mass breeders are dog breeders who breed improperly or irresponsibly.
In order to ensure that you deal with only the best and most respectable Pomeranian breeders, there are certain questions that you are going to want to ask a breeder before agreeing to do business with them. By getting answers to these questions you will be making yourself much more informed and be able to determine between good and bad breeders. This is very important because you want to get a dog that is happy, healthy, and well behaved and developed. This is not something you can expect from bad breeders who are more interested in making a profit and do not care if their dogs are sickly or badly behaved.
One of the first and most important questions you will want to ask yourself is whether or not a breeder has the necessary paperwork. This paperwork will prove that they are legitimate and show that they have the experience and knowledge in the field of dog breeding. This is important because you want to work with a breeder who is educated and knows what they are talking about. To find good Pomeranian breeders you will also want to ask how long they have been in the breeding business. This will give you a better idea on their experience and you can ask for a few references, people who you can speak to one on one and learn about their experience with the breeder.
There are other important things you may want to inquire about as well, such as how often they breed, what they charge per puppy, and how many breeds of dog they deal with. The latter is an especially important question, as the fewer breeds a breeder works with, the more knowledge they are going to have on that particular breed. Any good dog breeder will usually only work with one to two breeds of dog at the most.
Once you have had such questions answered by the breeders you are considering, you will find it much easier to narrow down the selections and make a final decision on one Pomeranian breeder. It may seem like a rather long and complex process, but the rewards you will receive as a result of taking your time here will be great indeed.
By asking the right questions and taking your time here, you will ensure that you are only dealing with the best breeders and therefore getting the healthiest and happiest dogs. Some breeders, those who do not take proper care of their dogs, will have puppies who have behavioral and temperament problems, problems which may not even be noticed until a few years down the road and which are usually incredibly difficult to treat. It is therefore going to be well worth it for you to put time and consideration into this process and find the best Pomeranian breeders you can.
To find good Pomeranian breeders ask the important questions and get to know as much about the breeder as you can. When you have got the Pomeranian information you are looking for you will be able to choose the right breeder.

Lists Of Pomeranian Breeders
A good and reputable Pomeranian breeder is choosy about his buyers. He will not sell his Pomeranian puppies to the first interested person. Pomeranian breeders are fussy because they want to make sure that a buyer can take good care of the puppy that they are taking home. For that he will always ask the buyer to answer some specific questions. You may be asked to explain why you want a Pomeranian puppy. You may even be asked to provide a veterinary reference if you are already in possession of pets.
Pomeranian breeders are always willing to discuss health problems and temperament problems for all their puppies. They can sometimes even provide pictures of some of the ancestors of the puppies. They are extremely possessive about their puppies and because of their attachment they do not sell them until they are sure that the puppies have a good home. Afterwards, they will only be too happy to give you tips on health issues, temperament problems or any other queries that you might have.
It is not an easy job to spot a fake Pomeranian breeder. Firstly, when the Pomeranian is just a puppy and its features are still not very prominent, it is difficult to judge whether it is purebred. But there have been cases when buyers have paid large sums of money to buy a purebred Pomeranian, and then later as the dog grew up, it was quite evident that it was a mixed breed. Duped buyers may ask for their money back, but unless there is a written guarantee, a refund may not happen.
Besides, a fake Pomeranian breeder would not be as fussy and possessive about his dogs as one normally is. The Pomeranian is a delicate dog and needs a lot of care. A proud Pomeranian breeder would have made his dog participate in dog shows and will be equally proud to display the accolades that it has won.
There are many websites where breeders sell their Pomeranians directly. It is better to choose your breeder from one of the known websites, or even find a Pomeranian breeder in your neighborhood.
The fur coat of the Pomeranian is found in many colors. The coat needs good care and it has to be brushed regularly. The dogs are generally full of life, barking very often and are healthy too. Their other characteristics are affection and friendliness. They are a loyal breed and actually a family dog, because they are intelligent and loving. And they like to learn as much as possible by being inquisitive. This is evident by the curious expression on their face.
Since Pomeranians are extremely good guard dogs, they are especially suitable for families. Pomeranian breeders can also give this training, because they have the experience of dealing with Pomeranians. Of course they may sometimes snap at children, because they are by nature temperamental.
Exercise is vital for the Pomeranian. These dogs may be kept with families living in apartments, as long as they get their regular dose of short walks every day. They are playful and like to play with the other family members as well.
Pomeranian breeders are fussy about their pets. They are proud of them and sell them only to true dog-lovers. If you are looking for Pomeranian information and nreeders, this article is ideal for you.

Why A Quality Pomeranian Breeder Won't Sell To A Pet Store
The Pomeranian is quickly becoming the most popular small breed dog in the world today. These dogs are known for their fluffy coats, and their elegant demeanors; but are becoming more so known for their affectionate and playful natures. Even in Hollywood the people can't stay away from these precious little dogs, and we see countless starlets and celebrities walking their precocious balls of fluff right beside them down the red carpet.
Unfortunately, this increased celebrity has left a wide open market for the dishonest Pomeranian breeder. Though many people are unaware of it, a respectable Pomeranian breeder has a long list of responsibilities that he or she must adhere to in order to produce only the healthiest of pups. These responsibilities are for the protection of their puppies, as well as for the protection of the new owners. Sadly, most people don't realize these responsibilities are so important, and impatiently purchase their new dogs from a pet store.
The first thing that anyone who wants one of these sweet little dogs must understand is that a respectable Pomeranian breeder would never sell his or her pups to a pet store. Since a pet store is obligated to sell their animals to anyone with the money to buy, there is never a guarantee that the dogs will be going to a good home. An honest Pomeranian breeder will put each person who wants one of their pups through a rigorous screening process in order to make certain that they will give the best care possible to their dog.
The dishonest Pomeranian breeder who supplies pet stores often is running what is known as a puppy mill. The only purpose of these mills is to churn out as many pups as possible throughout the year, in order to profit from the growing popularity of these dogs. Pups born in puppy mills are often born sick, simply because the breeders who run these mills raise their dogs in conditions that are barely legal, and will breed a female as many times in a year as possible.
Many pet storeowners will try to tell you that their dogs come from a quality, local breeder. Don't be taken in by their heartfelt speech. An honest Pomeranian breeder would never consider selling a dog to a place where he or she would have no control over who was going to be the new owner. Pet store employees have been taught to tell people that their dogs come from a well-respected breeder; unfortunately, this just isn't the truth.
When you refuse to buy a Pomeranian pup from a pet store, you are helping to ensure that the dishonest Pomeranian isn't making any more money. If everyone would stop buying dogs in the pet stores, these breeders would soon be out of business, and there would be far fewer new dog owners becoming heartbroken when their new pup dies from maltreatment. A Pomeranian makes a wonderful family pet, so don't you think your family deserves the very best?
Pomeranians are a wonderful small breed dog, known for their affectionate and energetic ways. Pomeranian breeders know this and are reluctant to sell dogs to pet stores just to keep up with the laws of supply and demand.
