Portland Trail Blazers: The Dynasty

Ranked #61,300 in Sports & Recreation, #1,384,561 overall | Donates to Squidoo Charity Fund

The Dynasty Begins...

The Blazers are now at the start of their dynasty! With Brandon Roy continually getting better, lamarcus aldridge bulking up, and Oden showing up strong in the preseason the dynasty is about to begin. Gone are the days which we would read the front page of The Oregonian to learn that once again one of our beloved Blazers got into legal trouble. Even better we are passed the days of losing. and in a couple of years we will be winning back to back to back NBA championships along the backs of Broy, LMA, Oden, Tlaw, webby, RUDY, and Bayless.

Visit my other pages on the Blazer players

i will be trying to give every blazer a squidoo page starting with Brandon Roy. Please check these sites out and i will be updating them with great material.

Blazers roll over Hawks

10/10/2008 - Blazers 102, Hawks 80

Shavlik Randolph? Who?
In the Blazers 22 point preseason win over the Hawks the blazer forward Randolph came out of no where to score a team high 19 points on 9 of 9 shooting.

Rookie Jerryd Bayless also showed up strong scoring 15 points - 7 in the fourth - helping the blazers to the victory. Bayless also added 7 rebounds and 7 assists.
The Blazers were without Webster, Rudy Fernandez, and Joel Pryzbilla yet still were able to show off their depth with 6 players scoring in the double digits. Webster and the team both agreed surgery would be the best move for his injury and is estimated to be gone 8 - 10 weeks. Rudy Fernandez is day to day with a sore ankle. Pryzbilla is also day to day with bronchitis.

Greg Odens new contest

10/10/2008 - Participate in Greg Odens new contest at a chance to be on HIS fantasy team

Greg Oden just opened up a new contest online for a chance to play on his fantasy team here. Basically it works like this.. Greg Oden is going to post a new picture on that website every week for the next couple weeks and we have to attempt to come up with the best captions. at the end of these weeks he is going to choose the best overall 5 people to be on his fantasy team run by NBA 2k featuring 8 NBA players.
The first photo is already up and i have already submitted my post. Good luck to everyone!

Preseason Begins!

10/09/2008 - The Blazers start off the preason 1-1.

First came the amazing 29 point win against the Sacremento Kings.
Brandon Roy - great
Oden - great
Lamarcus Aldridge - great
fernandez - amazing
sergio - surprising
almost all the damage was done in the third quarter when we outscored the kings by 29. Fernandez had 5 assists...but they weren't just your average assist...they were razzle dazzle blow your headd off amazing passes all leading to spectacular "boom shaka laka" dunks he had 2 or 3 amazing alleyoops to webster and even a pass through the legs defenders leading to the aldridge dunk. I will admit i was never completley sold on Rudy. even through the olympics, his skill, shooting and vision did not hit me until this preseason game.

Sergio also had a great game with 11 points 7 assists and three 3s. I am still a huge sergio fan and i am disappointed in the number of people that have already seemed to have given up on him. he is still extremely young and i believe a couple years down the road he will be a very good point gaurd.

In our second preseason game we played the Golden State Warriors. while we lost the game we also were without Brandon Roy and Martell Webster. Greg Oden was great in the first half and pulled down a total of 14 points and 9 rebounds. We lost this game in the fourth quarter where we were outscored by 16 points

Sound off!

While i think Travis Outlaw is the better player , i think he is also made for our second unit, where he would be given more flexibility to use his one on one skills. Websters 3 point shooting is also greatly needed in our starting line up and for these reasons i believe once he is healthy again (sigh) Martell should be starting. Then again there are those who say Rudy can and should play/start at Small forward, but i would have to see for myself in a regular season game before putting him into the equation.

Who will/should start at Small Forward?

Martell Webster

Travis Outlaw
