Walking is a Simple Way to Have a Healthier Pregnancy

Every woman wants to have a healthy pregnancy and a great way to accomplish that is with Exercise! For the majority of pregnancies, Pregnancy and Exercise should go hand in hand.

If the exercise is done safely a healthy pregnancy can only improve the environment and health of your baby...and who wouldn't want a healthy baby?!

Ask First...

Before starting a new workout routine please talk to your doctor first!

Walking...it's Easy to Get Started!

Walking is a wonderful exercise to do during pregnancy. Not only does everyone know how to do it but all you need is a good pair of walking shoes! Forget about all that extra exercise equipment that is now being used as a clothing rack, shoes and comfortable clothes take up minimal space in a house that will soon be overrun with baby things.

Any woman in any trimester of her pregnancy can go for a walk. Just make sure you are careful about the surface you are walking on. The last thing you want to do is trip and fall because you were not paying attention to the sticks in front of you.

If you are still not sure exercise during pregnancy is right for you just ask your doctor. Doctors will usually encourage women who have normal pregnancies to exercise and the majority will benefit from just 20 minutes a day!

Get off the Couch Already and Walk!

Reasons why you should start moving...
  1. Walking is Easy - Everyone knows how to do it and it doesn't take a lot of practice.
  2. No Equipment - All you need are a good pair of walking shoes and comfortable clothes.
  3. Walk at Any Time - You can safely walk during any trimester of pregnancy, from the day you find out you're pregnant to the day you deliver.
  4. Walk Anywhere - Go for a walk outside. You do not have to belong to a gym or own a treadmill to reap the benefits of walking, just becareful to watch where you are going.
  5. Split up your Walks - Walk small amounts 2 or 3 times a day. If you feel like you do not have time for a 30 minute walk break it up. Go for a 15 minute walk in the morning and 15 minute walk in the evening.

Walk to Improve your Health
