Identity Theft is becoming one of the fastest growing crimes in the United
States. You should always take steps to Prevent yourself from Identity Theft.
Always Review your monthly account statements. Check account statements for any charges you don't recognize,
Monitor your credit report regularly, atleast once a year to check for any inqueries from company's you didn't contact, unauthorized charges, addressess, etc. that you don't recognize. If You recognize any fraudulent activity contact one of the three major credit bureaus to place a fraud alert on your report.
Be aware of Internet Phishing. Never give out your Passwords or account information to people who contact you by email. Take the time to call the company and verify any problems with them.
Be careful what you download. Downloads and links in email can be infected by viruses, spyware. trojans, etc. that thieves can use to steal your Identity.
preventing your Identity from thieves is your right. Never be afraid to verify a company's contact before sharing your personal Informtion with them.
