Let me show you 7 quick tips to get your life under control and help procrastination end!

Here's 7 tips to help procrastination end and find that elusive Procrastination Cure:
- 1) Organize and Prioritize
- 2) Do the quick tasks first
- 3) Break bigger tasks into smaller tasks
- 4) Make every task extreme, and with consequence
- 5) You NEED to Procrastination Definition for each task individually
- 6) Make ALL the above a habit - and you're on your way to a Procrastination Cure
- 7) Read a Book called "14 Days To Total Time Control" by Martin Davis
1) Organize and Prioritize
First assignment is to get the following:
1) A Binder (with Tabs)
2) A memo pad
Categorize all your tasks into tabs (in your Binder).
Ex. Tab 1 = House; Tab 2 = Business, etc.
In each tab, write down relevant tasks.
So for "House", every room is a sub-category, and contains tasks.
Looks like this:
House
- Master Bedroom
- Clean Bathroom
- Clean Closet
Etc.
Every night, or the following morning, write1 to 3 tasks from each category into the memo pad. Don't overload yourself. If 5 tasks are too much, make it 3 or 4. These are your tasks for the day.

2) Do the quick tasks first
This one's easy. Finishing tasks quickly gives the sense of accomplishment you really need. Fulfilling your goals and getting closer to your procrastination cure becomes addicting.
3) Break bigger tasks into smaller tasks
If a task is too overwhelming - break into smaller, more manageable parts.
If building a bookshelf:
Do a little a day - but do SOMETHING
If building a bookshelf:
- Day 1, sketch out the plans.
- Day 2, gather/buy the materials.
- Day 3, gather/buy tools,
- Day 4, start building, and do what you can in 30 minutes (or whatever alloted time).
- Etc...
Do a little a day - but do SOMETHING
4) Make every task extreme, and with consequence
If a task doesn't get done in a day or two (the latest), it doesn't get done. You know this. So give it a passion equal to life or death.
Let's say you fell off a rowing boat and are underwater. There's absolutely no procrastinating when your prime goal is to breathe!
So why procrastinate now?
Letting the little tasks go by is VERY damaging. This gets you in the mindset of letting the bigger ones go. It's impossible to have direction. Success in anything requires constant forward movement. No task is too small.

5) You NEED to Procrastination Definition for each task individually
(The most important component of the Procrastination Cure)
If you skip a task, look inward and define procrastination for yourself and the reason for the aversion. Mark it next to the task.
(Ex. Clean Closet: Too tired after work)
If put off for 3 days - come up with a partner "Solution" task.
Add - "Take a 20 minute nap: then Clean Closet".
Other reasons:
(Ex. Clean Closet: Too tired after work)
If put off for 3 days - come up with a partner "Solution" task.
Add - "Take a 20 minute nap: then Clean Closet".
Other reasons:
- Simply forgot
- Want to set aside time first
- Fear of unknown (Ex. Doing taxes for the first time; getting a health check up could reveal new problems)
6) Make ALL the above a habit - and you're on your way to a Procrastination Cure
Do all this for 3 weeks, each day, and it becomes a habit. You'll definitely be on your way to the Procrastination Cure!
7) Read a Book called "14 Days To Total Time Control" by Martin Davis

With so many 'Aha' moments, I read the whole thing in one sitting. I consider myself a fairly intelligent person, and couldn't understand why I didn't come up with some of these powerfully simple techniques myself. And why, in all my research on a procrastination cure, did nobody else!!!
I'm grateful I found it, since it's my final piece of the puzzle to help procrastination end.
Since most procrastinate - "Day 1" chapter hits the ground running. I barreled through my tasks with this very first tip! I had all my tasks down (see 1-6, above), and now I could get them done easier - AWESOME!
It has a couple of typos, but Honestly, this is priceless! There is nothing that comes closer to a procrastination cure. Jumping right in, he helps define procrastination like no one else does. In a very down-to-earth format, he doesn't overwhelm the reader with useless chatter. He just gives you the 'good stuff'.
If looking for that "Procrastination Cure" - then try out my suggestions above, and by all means get 14 Days To Total Time Control (Click Here to Learn More!).
You'll thank me later (Monk reference). :)

- Thanks so much for this article. I really love the videos! After I was done reading it, I organized my hall closet. I've been wanting to do it for months. I'm also shopping for groceries online and creating a custom budget for a grocery list like I've always wanted to do. I'm going to order "14 Days To Total Time Control" by Martin Davis while I'm at it.
