How to Promote your Zazzle Store on Squidoo!

Another lens from the fine folks at Zazzle Dazzlers. No matter if you are a seasoned lensmaster or you are looking to start your first lens, we hope to provide you with imformation that you will find valueable. On this lens we will show you how to start a lens to promote your Zazzle store. We also are encouraging experienced lensmasters to add their input on how to make a lens successful. We have added a module for lensmasters to share their Tips & Tricks for lens building. We have also added a module for anyone with a Zazzle lens that accepts Zazzle store owners to add their links. This should make it much easier for owners to find an updated list of ways to promote their store.

Start a Squidoo Lens in 4 Easy Steps!

(1) CLICK HERE to get started. The first page you see will be: What's your lens about: This is the title of your lens. It is in orange at the top of this page. This is a very important part. Your title should reflect your stores title plus many people like to get a keyword or two in there. For instanst if your store specializes in Vintage Prints or Orginal Artwork etc.

(2) What's your goal for your page: This will add some of the modules for you if you wish but I find it easyer to choose the last one (Let me do my own thing)

(3) Create a Title and URL: The title is the same as you choose in step 1, if you are not happy with it you can always change it here or in your workshop later. As far as the URL goes many people believe a URL with underscores between keywords if the best. Such as Sals_Vintage_Prints is better than salsvintageprints. If this is true or not I am not sure but it couldn't hurt. You can not change the URL later.

(4) Tag your page: This is where you may add your first 3 keywords after your title. You can, and should add more later in the right hand column of your workshop. More on that later.

Note: If this is your very first lens there is two more steps. Step 5 to choose if you want the money earned from your lenses or want to donate to chairity. Step 6 is where you choose your username password etc.

Your Workshop

Now the fun begins! This is where you create your fantastic lens.

Themes: This is where you can choose how you want your lens to look. Squidoo now offers several different styles of themes. You may not see what it looks like until you publish it. If you don't like it just edit your lens again and change your theme.

My Bio: This is where you can tell people a little about yourself, your stores, or even you dog or cat. You can also add links to all your stores, blog, or websites here.

My Photo: This is where you can add your avatar photo. This will appear anywhere you leave a comment. Plus will show on all your lenses with a link to your bio.

Add Modules: Here is the important part. This is how you build your lenses. There are several modules to choose from. The most important are the text modules, you will use these more than anything else. This is a text module that you see this text in and also the picture. The Zazzle module is also an important one, you may add products from your store without hardly any effort at all. You may add as many of the same modules as you want, So if you want to highlight different parts of your store it is very easy to do with several different Zazzle modules. A great way to get traffic to your store and have people rate your lens is to add a Links Voting (Plexo) module. This way other Zazzle store owners will visit your lens and add their store link and hopefully rank, fav, and lensroll your lens. Throw in a Guestbook module and you have a great start to your lens.

Reorder Modules: Here you may drap and drop your modules to reorder them so they show in the order you desire.

Tags: Another very important part. This is where you add your tags or keywords. Add as many as you can think of. It is what the Squidoo search engine will look for.

Export: Backup for your lens.

Royality Settings: Where you money will go.

Lensroll: Lenses that you have lenrolled to your lens.

If you have hundreds of products in your Zazzle store, organize them into clearly understood categories and customize the product sort order of each category so your best selling or flagship products appear at the top of each category page. This ability to create a custom product sort order separately for each category is new and powerful. There's some learning involved so we put together a product sort function tutorial on our 'Zazzle with Pizazz' site.

There are more tips on http://www.squidoo.com/how-to-sell-zazzle-art and also a place to add your zazzle store or squidoo lens. Another tip I've read about url's is that it's best to separate the words with hyphens.

I've run into the same problem as well. I wish they did have some type of information on the products that sell, so we know which lens to promote more agressively. I made some money on a referral sale, then logged into squidoo saying one of my lenses made money. So, I'm sure the sale is from squidoo, but very irritating they don't tell you what product actually sold.

I agree with you Angelas Designs. I sometimes like to add my own images and link to my product. It does take more time and effort but you get the full commission from Zazzle. I have been told that the Squidoo commission for a sale from a Zazzle module is not that much less than a Zazzle commission but I can not find anywhere where it tells me what sold, how much it sold for, or anything on a specific sale from Squidoo. The only information I get is how much you made off the lens for that month. So until someone can prove otherwise I think you make more money by using your own Zazzle link with your affiliate code or the Zazzle*.

Although I like using the zazzle modules, I also use the text module sometimes with the zazzle product link, if I want a larger sized image on my lens. Currently, I'm working on adding more text to my lens on greeting cards to make it more informative. Hopefully, this will encourage people to spend more time there and click on the links too.

Great idea. I do the same a BleuMoonsAttic suggests and have a sampling of my products that will encourage someone to go to my store to see all of my products.

I thought I would start the ball rolling with a tip of my own. My tip is do not try and put 100s of your store items on your lens. If the lens takes forever to load people will leave without ever looking at your items. Just put some of your very best designs and hope they will visit your store to see the rest.

^ Please Add Squidoo Lenses Only To This List ^

And only if you allow Zazzle Store links to be added to the lens.

Please only Squidoo lenses may be added to the above list. This way it will be easy for other Squidoo members to find places to add their Zazzle store links.
