Promotional Items for Small Business

Ranked #137,661 in Business & Work, #1,108,145 overall

Why Use Promotional Items

Promotional Items are a great way to get your name in front of a lot of different people and across demographic. geographic and even political lines. Consider all the people out there who use a pen, a coffee mug or mouse pad. There are no agendas to why they use certain ones, and this makes it a great way to get your name out to a wide group of people.

Keep Your Name in the Forefront

Lanyards have a defined purpose, they are meant to carry something you do not want in your pockets. Over the years people have found it effective to diversify the way a lanyard is used, consider the custom neck lanyard. It was designed to carry weapons originally - like way back in the day - and now you can't access IBM or Microsoft without one. They are used to carry both ID badges and security entrance cards.

In any small business retail store you SHOULD see a manager on-site with the manager keys around their neck amplified by a lanyard with the company logo screen printed or embroidered on it. The reason this can be so effective is the lanyard carries the company logo directly in front of the eye-line of the individual interacting with the employee. You can often get the best lanyards online because they give you the most relevant and widest range of options.

Associate the Products Usefulness with Your Brand

Have you ever used a product and thought, man what would I do without this. How more or less likely would you be to associate the creative and helpful nature of the product with the company whose logo is on it. How many products go unused in this way? Lets consider some of the most used products in your home upon which a logo could be placed. First I will throw out all the obviously over saturated things; kitchen magnets, calendars, notepads, pens and air freshers for the car.

Okay now rather than think of things that get a lot of looks think of things people really like. Snuggies are recently really popular and while plastering the logo all over it may not be the best certainly one in the corner will do the job. Think about a kitchen product people really like and makes things faster like a chopper from pampered chef, or if that isn't your demographic what about a super effective sensitive glass cleaner like the ones that are used to clean LCD tv screens. Literally the possibilities are endless - you just have to be creative.

Promotional Items for the Outside the Box Thinker

What your business actually does is just as effective promotional items as anything else. Don't just think you need to put your name on a golf hat and call it good. Consider this little story, there was a man who owned a small custard cart and couldn't get the business he wanted. He said he would spend up to $10,000 to get 200 new customers. It was mentioned to him that was $20 per customer and his response was that once people tried the product they were hooked and after a few return visits the money would be more than earned back. He had a friend who ran the local radio and gave him a few spots every 30 minutes announcing anyone and everyone could get a free cone if they made it to the stand by midnight the next day. The product itself was the promotional item - his business took off and he spent less than a quarter of his desire advertising budget.

Think outside the box to get the absolute best results.
