Pass the Vinegar

Most of us have a jar of vinegar in our kitchens. It makes for a great sauce with many sea foods and is great with French fries. However, vinegar has many other uses. Vinegar makes a great cleaner and is the best hair and skin conditioner you can buy. Vinegar has the ability to balance the ph levels in your skin. It doesn't matter if your skin is naturally oily or dry, vinegar works to re-establish that balance in your skin.

Psoriasis sufferers can also benefit from vinegar. Creating a good balance in your skin can help to reduce the effects of psoriasis. Apple cider vinegar specifically has been known to reduce inflammation. It also helps to ease the pain and burning associated with psoriasis.

Those that have finger or toe nails that are affected by this condition should mix the apple cider vinegar with water. Simply place your nails in the mixture for a few minutes. It acts as a great cleaner and can improve your nail's quality. Apple cider vinegar compresses are also effective in treating skin flair ups. Mix one cup of apple cider vinegar to one gallon of water. Place a small towel or wash cloth in the mixture and apply directly to your skin. This will help sooth the itching and pain as well as re-moisturize the skin.>More

We have known about the benefits of olive oil for quite sometime. As one of the healthier oils, it contains many of our body's necessary fats. The Do's and Don'ts

If you have psoriasis, avoid wearing tight fitting clothing. While it is true that you want to keep any lesions covered, you don't want your clothes so tight they cause marks. By doing this you're putting your skin at risk for secondary infections. This can cause even greater psoriasis flare ups.

Try to avoid stress. If this is impossible then learn some coping strategies. Stress can again trigger psoriasis flare ups. If you have a high pressure job or life style, you do not have to necessarily give it up. Practice relaxation techniques and positive thinking. Try to find what works for you to cope with the stress in your life. If your body doesn't feel stressed then your psoriasis will not flare up as often.

Sufferers of psoriasis must use caution with any kind of beauty product. Things like perms, hair colorants and strengtheners can dry and damage the skin. Make sure you use gloves when using these products. Avoid them all together if you have any visible lesions.
Wait until they heal properly until you use anything like this.

One of the most effective ways to fight psoriasis is to keep the skin moisturized. This can be dome externally and internally. Drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration. Doing this will help keep moisture in the skin and will reduce the chances of further flare ups. There are also several other health benefits to drinking water.

Finally, get plenty of exercise. This is good for the body all over but will help psoriasis sufferers even more. Keeping your body healthy reduces your chances of obesity. Obesity makes psoriasis much harder to control and can heighten the effects of the symptoms. The exercise also has its own healing properties for the skin.>More
